Doesn't matter who you lose to in March. They're all in the tournament for a reason. Besides that, numerous teams are under seeded simply because of what conference they play in. The team itself may do well in a stronger conference and thus earn a higher seed if they had the chance but because of where they play, come in ranked poorly. So again, if you could choose between the Panthers winning 2 SuperBowls every ten years and beating our rivals 72 percent of the time over that span at the cost of losing in the wildcard the 6 of those years, would you do it? I feel like 99% of fans would.

Yea, I don't see why it matters who Duke loses to. In the time Duke has won two Championships Carolina has won zero. Are Carolina fans telling me they would not trade places with that in a heartbeat. Fact of the matter it is hard to maintain tournament success in the one and done era. Duke has reaped its benefits, but also has been victim to its down side which in inexperience, lack of chemistry, difficulty in implementing defense, etc.

They're in the tournament because you have to be absolutely awful not to go to the tournament. There's twice as many teams in the NCAA tournament as there are in the NFL total.

Everyone was talking about what an easy draw duke got and how they may have actually lucked out getting "snubbed" for a #1 and they still flamed out. Lehigh and Mercer were great under-seeded teams, right? LOL!

Again, your analogy is a false equivalency. I should've never taken the bait on it to begin with.

I love how Duke fans like to manipulate the timelines of comparison to strengthen their arguments. First it was a decade - now it's gone to the last seven years. UNC won in 2009 - one year before Duke in 2010. UNC lost in last year's National Championship. UNC is obviously in a better position to win one this year. Duke has most definitely dominated the head-to-head match-ups, but let's not act like UNC hasn't had recent success. Why stop at seven years or a decade? Roll it back to 2005 and let's compare trophies. Let's roll it back to the beginning of time and compare head-to-head. The fact is that Duke has been bounced 5 times in the opening weekend by schools like Lehigh and Mercer and just because you choose to pick a timeframe to justify accepting those defeats by the number of Championships, I, personally, will never been satisfied with having my team completely flopping half the time and then try to make an "it's cool - we don't really care" argument

Carolina fans haven't won a ring in sooo long they are getting delusional over here.

Its like Carolina fans are satisfied with just winning a couple of games and bouncing.

Yeah, even sucked in 2010. LOL @ us, right?

Meanwhile, duke has suffered multiple early upset losses in the tourney that would be all-time upsets for Carolina.

How many ringzzzz tho?

It makes for good fodder among rival fans, but no one outside of this state really remembers or cares. But they remember the rings.

It's almost like duke fans are happy being preseason #1 and then finishing 5th in the ACC and getting bounced on the opening weekend of the NCAA tournament. Getting bounced early is such a frequent occurrence that it's no longer even disappointing.

It's cool, man....they were 2-1 against UNC this year.

duke fans have to get creative with their timeframes to win that argument. Both programs have 5 championships (UNC actually has 6 since they were retroactively awarded the 1924 championship but I won't even count that one).

Can't you live with early defeats if you are also the last guy standing? They don't give trophies for the elite 8 or even the Final Four. This ain't the 70s.

You went last year and lost. Slow clap for making it further last year.

It's about winning championships and only Duke and i think Uconn have won multiple times reee cent..ly.

Carolina is a bucket from winning 1 more recently and Duke a bucket from winning 2. 1 pt and 2 pt losses.

Since the last time UNC won it all, Duke has gotten coffee twice. As long as you guys avoid Kansas and Duke Uconn they both usually fare pretty well.
