That is fine but I wasn't talking about BPA or needs.

My earlier comment was in reference to a comment someone made about being disappointed if we picked the 3 or 4th best DE over the #1 at a different position.

I stated that it is possible for the 3rd best DE in this class to have a higher grade then say the 1st tackle.

Ahhhh sorry I missed that and people expecting us to reach will be disappointed. We pick the highest rated player on our board. It's why no one can mock draft us right.

The fact that Jacksonville is ahead of us, Fournette will probably end up there. Their backs haven't panned out and they need something dynamic. Also Watson top 5 LOL you will see his stock dive at the combine. Certainly not a niner. Grappalo will be sent there.

"If you are going to take a RB in the 1st rd...he better be a 3 down guy, & there better be no question that he can do blitz pickup"--Dave Gettleman 4/29/2014

His philosophy doesn't change. If either Fournette or Cook have not showed the ability to do blitz pickup or they suck at blocking period...I seriously doubt DG will take them.

I disagree completely. They suck. Re-signing Fitz gets them nothing. Wasting money on Romo gets them maybe to .500 but still miles behind the Pats. They need to hit on a QB. They need to develop a stud to take them to the playoffs as Brady declines (he's the GOAT, but he will, they all do soon after 40). Hackenberg sucks. Petty got hurt at the end of the year and they still wouldn't play him in lose for draft pick mode. There were terrible reports about him and I think the coach/GM didn't want the embarrassment of his play getting them fired.

How do the GM and coach keep their jobs? By paying a ton for Romo and still not sniffing the playoffs or by drafting QB prospect who like Wentz shows some potential? The second gives them more time. The former gets them fired after 2017. Fitz again gets them fired week 5.

This is a poor QB class unless Watson falls there is no one there.  They are still paying for the mistake that is Geno Smith why have another one on the roster.

Fournette can block well but Cook totally sucks at it.

Hope you're right.  Agree.  REALLY hope Romo goes to the Texans.  Schefter said it's the best fit.  The Texans would obviously have to give up something but still have the 25th pick.  If they get Romo they shouldn't feel they have to use that pick on a QB and will probably need to accumulate picks.  If our target is still there at 25 we can use our day 2 picks to move in front of the Seahawks to get our guy at 25.  The Jets would still feel the need to take a QB at 6 as well.

Definitely possible but I've seen Allen, Adams, Barnett, Thomas, and even Cook mocked there too.  Still a greater than 50% chance he does NOT go to Jax.

If I'm JAX and I've invested in Yeldon and Ivory, I don't think I use a #4 overall pick on a RB. IDK Jacksonville's needs honestly, but I would think a DC at his roots would make him eye defense. I think Jamal Adams makes sense (imagine he and Ramsey locking down that secondary) or Allen if he falls.

That being said, I could see Fournette possibly here if they think they need to give Bortles a bonafide stud offensive weapon. I think the NYJ are more logical for Fournette, IMO.  Those are the two teams I think would take him.

I feel much better about Jax passing on Fournette after seeing Ivory is under contract until 2021 and Yeldon 2019.
