Todd McShay's Mock Draft 2.0. Fournette still be a Panther, bruhs.

I'm curious how the staff feels about Soloman Thomas.  According to McShay, he gets Drafted right after we take Fournette.

Yeah I've seen some mocks with him even going before our pick.

Just from watching cuts up and interviews I'm guessing the Panthers will really like him as a person. He can also line up anywhere which if KK is tagged and then walks he helps fill that void.

I like Taco because he's a pure edge rusher and has the length and athleticism to be an elite rusher. Something we desperately need as well.

Draft Taco, sign Peppers and Tony Jefferson and that's a nice defense. With that said, if Fournette is there he'll be the pick, has to be right?

You think the Jets will get him (their o-line is far worse than ours) yet you'd think it'd be stupid for us to get him?

There system is set up for a runner like him. Put simply Fitz is no where in the area code of how good Cam is. Cam does Tom Brady poo every year while Fitz is the new Delhomme. Also he is better pick then hoping a OT turns out right.

I wouldn't take anything that guy says seriously at this point.  He's talking like Fitz is going to be there next year, when really that dude is a FA and played like poo.  Like I stated, I wouldn't take what he's posting too serious.

The ranking of some of these DL prospects is extremely interesting to me. I've seen Thomas, Charlton, Barnett all be ranked in the top 3 players in this entire draft by different sources. Even seen Harris top 10 some places. Of course a lot of fluidity and movement this time of year on big boards and what not but still this is more so than usual especially with these DL.

Oh and enjoy your baseless opinion is the other options. I'm sure everyone is excited about that. At least try to disprove my theory instead of throwing out insults.

Adams

Fournette

Thomas

I'll be extremely happy with one of these guys. Me personally I would prefer a safety to compensate for Atlanta's high-powered offense but we need a successor for Stewie and a premier pass rusher too.

I really hope we do make a play for a vet safety in FA for that exact reason. Kurt needs to move back to FS and I'm not sure I would trust a rookie with JJ and Muhammad Sanu on the other side.

I wasn't insulting you.  I just said to not take your opinion serious.  You're the one stating that's an insult.

Your theory would make more sense if the Jets were set at QB, anywhere on the O-Line besides Center, or corner for that matter since they're probably moving Revis to Safety.

Lastly, they just worked out DeShaun Watson today.  Just FYI.  While I don't think they've worked Fournette out.  It could still happen, but it wouldn't make much sense when they have many other needs.

Only other team we should worry about are the Jags, not the Jets.  Jags seem pretty content at many other positions, especially DE, but they could want another Safety if they let Cyprien go.  If not, they could be set there.  Then, that would have them warranting maybe an upgrade at RB from Ivory (even though they just signed him), and Yeldon.  Obviously they're still content with Bortles, even though, his mechanics are worse than Cam's at this point.

That's the highest I've seen Taco go in a mock so far. He's only going to improve his stock after the combine. I definitely like him more than Barnett. If Fournette is gone, Taco could be an option. This kid is only scratching the surface

I agree.  The combine will be interesting.

I definitely think both of those players could be in play for us depending on what happens in front of us.

We said the same thing about Bradberry.

Hooker is a generational talent like Reed and Thomas. The guy likely has 4.4 speed, long arms, around 6'2" in height, possesses soft hands, and can play centerfielder. I don't care if he's a rookie, he'll make an immediate impact.

Didn't Hooker just get hurt though?  Not sure if he's generational.  Haven't heard many comparison's there.

Totally happy with one of the three.

Adams

Fournette

Hooker

I can be sold on......

Foster

Allen

If all those guys happen to be gone, I'm okay with trading down to about 12 for the below

Cook

OJ Howard

Thomas

Dream scenario......

Fournette with the 8th pick

trade back into the first for OJ Howard

Sometimes teams go for another look because they are not sure. Everyone and there mom knows Fournette is the top RB. Not so much with Watson and the QB class. I also see either Cle or SF taking Watson. While he had a bunch of help around him he was a winner. The jets have many holes on offense but adding a RB with a 5th round option makes a whole bunch of sense because of how there system works. They could pick Robinson but he has question and Fournette doesn't. Also I see the Jags maybe taking QB or S as you said.

    • Probably so in the big picture.  The 2025 class has largely already been recruited though.  The portal is what it is.   Bill going to need time to find the kids that will be what he wants and that will put up with his world/ways.   i just think the auto contender next year stuff is silly.  I’m largely just needling and addressing the timetable Whoa put out there.  He needs time.

    • This is dumb, but not as dumb as declining a massive trade for Brian Burns. It’s completely baffling and embarrassing.
