Christian Mccaffrey is a more logical choice

Yup. If we've learned anything from the last two drafts then its that he's not going to draft whatever need based player you think may be best for us in the 1st.. I could seriously see him drafting OJ Howard or whoever he believes is the best CB. Or even Rueben Foster that what just be typical of the last couple of years and wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Fournette makes more sense. The running game cant be based off Cam's running threat anymore. With the way officiating is going he's going to get hurt.

This will keep Cam healthy. We will wear down defenses. Stewart will no longer have to be bubble wrapped for the eight games a year that he plays. And when he does hit the field he will have e plenty of juice to destroy the defense. We'll have a great 1-2 punch at RB. Stew will take a pay cut.

I don't think that you can count on him bulking up. Some do, some don't. I would think that his dad already has him on an NFL regimen. Plus, he is no more of a threat to take it to the house than Fournette or Cook. Fournette already has the size and speed. McCaffrey is clearly the better receiver (not that Fournette can't develop that part of his game).

If Fournette, Cook and McCaffrey are available, then Fournette is the most logical choice in my opinion.

It depends on what you want. If you want a younger version of Stewart you go with Fournette. If you want someone who complements Stewart and brings more elusiveness to the mix, you pick Cook or McCaffrey. I don't pretend to be a talent expert but I find McCaffrey to offer some unique skills much like a Darren Sproles type player who can do a lot more than just run the ball.

I don't see it.  I don't think his speed is elite, ie threat to take to the house every time he touches the ball. As far as 10-15 extra pounds, maybe?  It's not like he didn't have an NFL father and probably had a nutritionist by the time he 16 years old.  I think he is a good all around player, but I think you are over estimating his athleticism in comparison to other NFL level players.  His ability to catch the ball shouldn't be ignored but looking at the defenses the our division, they are all getting faster. I don't see him as a huge upgrade at the RB position. Fournette in comparison is elite in both size and speed.  If it's a top 10 pick it would seem like a waste to pick McCaffrey. Now if we are talking into second round then by all means, but if we are talking 1st round?  Can't see it.

McCaffrey came out of high school at 5-10 and 180 lbs and was running a 4.48 40 then. He is now 6' 0" and 200 lbs so 10-15  lbs of muscle is surely likely when he plays football for a living not just part time while he is going to college. Founette's has been reported between 4.35 and 4.45 so not much different. I will watch the combine with interest to see how they stack up.

I wouldn't be unhappy with Fournette or McCaffey but actually would prefer a safety like Adams or Hooker.

That's a big difference.  Plus Fournette is at 235 ...

I think Adams would be huge pick up for us.  However I think offensively upgrading our overall talent is hugely important.  hand in hand with improving the offensive line both starters and depth.

I can live with Godfrey tbh.  I don't think he's as bad as he is made out to be, around here.  Especially near the end of the year.  However our pedestrian run game , and our no separation WR's are depressing.

Let's see Fournette time on the 40 at the combine where it is laser timed and everyone uses the same track. That makes things even and is great for comparison's. Most of the 4.35 times reported for him were not this year and not laser timed. Then there is the whole football speed versus track speed argument

Fournette's top speed is faster than Teddy Ginn and is 50lbs heavier.

I don't care how fast McCaffrey is, he is not Fournette fast (or strong).

Faster than Ginn...? Come on, man.

He's likely faster than McCaffrey though.

I think the faster than Ginn assertion is coming from the scouting vid that got posted on here the other day. It said Fournette's top speed was faster than any player in the NFL had clocked in the past 2 years. No idea if the claim is true but if so that dude is fuging fast.

Ginns top speed this year was 22.3 or something like that and Fournette topped off at 22.9 which is faster than any NFL player this year to include track star Marqise Goodwin

What is wrong with you guys, you don't pass up a Fournette, or Cook for this...

Strange to me that people keep mentioning us picking Cook.  At least 3 run ins with the law (robbery, poss of gun, battery) and it isnt like he is all that big and he will fumble as well.  I dont see us picking him.  McCafferry is a perfect citizen so that alone makes him more likely to be a Panther.. and obviously 8 is too rich for McCafferry with the talent in that top 10.
