I'd rather draft a younger guy like Ryan Ramczyk. No more stop gap guys.

We need to do both. Get a quality stop gap and draft someone to mold behind them. Let's face it, there seem to be no Day 1 starters at LT in the draft. Need a solid vet and develop someone behind him. If we're going to get back to the playoffs, we can't have both Oher and Remmers as starting tackles.

I don't think we'd have to trade for Peters. I think if he fails to renegotiate, the feeling is that he will be released. I may be off on that, but I remember researching available OTs for us, and came across a few Philly papers/blogs that mentioned him being gone this offseason because of his contract.

I would take a 34 year old Peters as a FA and then draft another OT later in the draft to groom behind him. I do wonder how much worse Riley Reiff would be though.... he's 6 years younger. Would we rather have 2 years of Peters or 4-5 of Reiff?

Wouldn't necessarily be mutually-exclusive moves, and Peters could (and probably does) have a few quality years left. Get the starter, develop the younger guy, add depth, gain draft and FA flexibility.

Depends on his value.  What is is contract worth at the moment?  He has lost a step so just like Whitworth, he would have a value to the Panthers but not sure it would be in a trade.  Probably wait till he is released and hope the Charlotte area would help get a small discount
