104.3 The Fan rumor. Panthers like McCaffrey at 8.

In my world Dave aquires a mid 1st and gets McCaffrey along with Fournette if he drops or a DE.

The real debate for the Panthers, since Fournette could be gone, is Cook or McCaffrey? Ron has stressed the need to evolve the run game recently.

Cook is a great RB also but I'm starting to warm up to McCaffrey backing up Stew and returning on ST.

This is a good draft. This is the draft to go all out. Most teams picking in the top ten aren't sniffing a SB. We need a little offensive firepower and a couple FA OL, some help at DE, good health and we could be back.

There is such a huge difference between Fournette and McCafrey athletically,  I can't see a scenario where he is picked before him.

Fournette has elite speed and elite power.  If we transition our offense into a more traditional one or at least 1 where Cam isn't our leading rusher then Fournette is the answer.  If we are trying to find someone to fit more into what we are trying to do now, I guess McCaffrey may be a better choice?...

Nah,  can't see it.

Hell no to McCaffrey at #8. I think he'll be a Reggie Bush type NFL player. Good player who is very versatile, but definitely not worth a pick in the top half of the 1st round.

Fournette is my Star Loutelelei of this draft. The guy I'd take for our team if we had the #1 overall pick. Okay... not quite. I'd take Garrett. BUT, I'd take Fournette #2.

Fournette no matter what.

The speculation probably stems from David Newtons article about JSTEW.

"That the Panthers last week hired Stanford running backs coach Lance Taylor to replace wide receivers coach Ricky Proehl increased speculation about Stewart’s future.

Taylor coached Christian McCaffrey the past few seasons, raising speculation the Panthers might consider the Heisman Trophy finalist with the No. 8 pick of the draft.

And they likely will consider McCaffrey, along with Florida State running back Dalvin Cook and LSU’s Leonard Fournette."

1. Who the hell is Cecil Lammey?

2. Why is a Denver beat writer & Denver station randomly tossing out Panthers draft bits in February?

3. Who the hell is Cecil Lammey?

This has to be connecting a few abstract dots from our new WR coach - Stanford - Newton's article - click bait.

I don't doubt that Taylor is enamored with McCaffrey.  I also don't doubt that McCaffrey perks DG's interest in his versatility for what he could present to Cam in our offense. I also don't disagree that Gettleman would try to buy back into the end of the 1st to snag him possibly.

Outside of that, drafting McCaffrey at 8 is silly. There are too many players that present more value for us at 8, IMO. A trade back, or a trade-up from the 2nd to late 1st is plausible, but not at 8.
