In a few hours we could be the Browns of the NFC South.

Three division championships in a row does not really support the "mediocre" opinion (even if you throw the first one out). Plus the fact that the Falcons are in the same division, I guess they were mediocre too.

Granted, I'll give you the criticism of two-time COTY, Ron Rivera, though I believe it is somewhat simplistic, but you should remember that when Gettleman got here, the budget was turned upside down, so it's no---You Know What? I'm not even going to analyze and explain it to y'all whiners. If you wanna go be Falcons fans, GO BE FALCONS FANS!

Falcons and Saints started in 1966 and 1967

Bucs in 1976

panthers in 1995

we gave them nearly a 30 year and 20 year head start. The Falcons will play in their second super bowl today which will tie them for appearances with us while the Bucs and saints have played in one.

If the Falcons win today, we can have the conversation about being the Browns of this divison in 2036 or 2046. That will be the equivalent of suckage those fan bases will have endured thus far.

To be fair (if the Falcons win) all of them would have won a SB since the realignment.

Historically speaking the NFC south is far and away the worst division in the NFL. Not a single team in our division has a record over .500

1 season loll. Try 22. This team has been mediocre since 1995. We never make changes to personnel or adjust anything on the team when we need to until it is too late. All in the name of "continuity" because our owner is afraid to end up like the Browns or Lions or Jags or whatever. And it's pretty funny because we might as well be like them. If this organization doesn't strive to be great, then what's the point of keeping everyone together for as long as possible?

Jesus Christ ... somebody get this man a shot of something [emoji123]strong[emoji123] how many we all complain but this is ridiculous our season is over the only thing we can do is look forward to the next and honestly there have been low points that are lower than this so you need not complain because if I remember correctly we went one season one and 15 if we are going to zero and 15 and we are going one and 15 we are a step ahead... that's not excuse the mediocrity but you know what I mean

Falcons actually have a owner who has balls and holds his coaches accountable. Sad part is the Panthers get better fan support.

What are you talking about? Mike '1-4 in the playoffs' Smith was not held accountable. It took back-to-back terrible seasons to get him fired and that was after he'd already choked in the playoffs 4 times.

Not saying that Carolina is perfect by any means - far from it - but Atlanta/Arthur Blank is hardly the model of coach accountability.

If ATL wins today we will be one of 11 teams out of 32 that have not won a Super Bowl. Of Those 11 Only 8 have gone and lost every time. Even worse we are One of three that has lost more than once.  But no we are not the Browns, really we the Bengals but that's so much better.

Mike actually took the Falcons to the playoffs in two seasons and had far less losing seasons than Rivera. But keep trying.

7 years as Falcons coach. 4 playoff chokes in 5 seasons before 2 terrible seasons got him fired. Smith's regular-season win percentage is .589 compared to Rivera's .569 and Rivera has made a Super Bowl. Smith went to the playoffs 4 of his first 5 years while Rivera is 3 of 5, but Rivera made it further.

Also again, I'm not saying anything about Carolina - far as I'm concerned Rivera's on his last chance and I really wasn't against a change this offseason. I'm pointing out that since Smith had to flop badly 2 more times after those 4 chokes your assertion that Atlanta is some bastion of accountability doesn't hold water. By the Atlanta standard Rivera has at least this year, Year 7, to get back on track. But keep trying.
