Wonder what people would think if they did draft Rueben Foster in whatever scenario caused that to happen.  I mean he is the best Linebacker to come out in several years.  Dude is stud.  Although LB is last on needs, and im sure huddle would freak.  but hmmm I wonder.

If Fournette is off the board, I know we're going defense for sure.  Wouldn't shock me, and I wouldn't be mad at all.

If Foster and Barnett are both on the board, I gotta go with Foster. Luke's noggin' insurance and will allow us to boost our talent rotation on the outside.

A quality DE can be had with pick #40, IMHO. But I wouldn't be mad if we ended up picking Barnett at 8. In this situation, I just think Foster is the bigger talent.

Zach Cunningham is going to be a stud LB in the NFL too. In a nightmare scenario for us where all of our guys are gone at 8, and we couldn't trade down, I would even consider Cunningham at 8. It wouldn't be a nightmare in that Cunningham could do the same things Foster will, but because there is a bit of dropoff between the two, and Cunningham could probably be had in the 15-25 pick range.

Foster has had a couple of notable concussion issues while in college, so I'm not so sure he'd be any kind of cover or protection for Luke wrt concussions.  From what I've seen, Foster is a classic head-down tackler (as opposed to face-up) which us a style more likely to cause concussions.

Should be welcomed?  Maybe.  But, Drafting 3 CBs the prior year, I highly doubt another Rookie would make sense.  A Veteran at that position on the other hand?  Yes.

Well...Bradberry and Worley are vets now, though still admittedly inexperienced---but still experienced. If we bring in another guy who is scouted to have higher potential than Bradberry, put him in Worley's spot and slide Worley to the slot, then we'd potentially have even more firepower to deal with the Falcons of the world.

Bradberry was better than a lot of vets, and I kinda believe that a CB that Gettleman picks at 8 would be better for us than any vet he could acquire in FA.

I wouldn't be screaming "Bloody murder!"

I don't agree, but it's your opinion.

panthersb_logo.gif Carolina Panthers: Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama Alabama_logo.gif
Carolina likes to take the top player on its board, and I speculated that it would be Dalvin Cook last week. However, the Panthers also value character very highly, and there are concerns about Cook and the company he keeps, so he could slide a bit in the 2017 NFL Draft. The next prospect on the big board might just be Marlon Humphrey.

The Panthers missed Josh Norman last year. James Bradberry performed on a high level at cornerback this past year, but Carolina is still in need of help at the position.

Seems pretty informed to me.  It's BPA (for the writer) and CB has been noted as strong this year by our GM.  Logic is there, even though the position seems unlikely.  Injuries happen too though.

I know this is a dumb question.  But, has Cook ever gotten into any trouble?  Legit question.

Had a battery charge against him but it was dropped.  I'm seeing reports of medical red flags now too though (shoulder i think but could be hearsay).

EDIT: Sorry, wasn't dropped he was found not guilty.

So, today you are saying that Worley is at least sufficient, huh...? Yesterday was a different story, huh?

So, a quality corner who has been compared to a young DRC would be anathema to you?

Who is this FA corner who compares to a young DRC that would be better than Humphrey?

Should we take a player at another position of need who is obviously not rated as highly as Humphrey (or any other CB) with the 8th pick?

I don't think corner is that big of a position of need to Gettlemen?  Me personally, yeah.  I wouldn't mind it.  But, not in the First Round.  I would prefer a safety, DE, or even a TE like Tiger stated.
