i guess you don't know that complaining about refs publically is against NFL rules and punishable by fines or suspensions. It is not even close to complaining about the schedule or other issues over the season. So first you don't hurt your team or get fined during the season for inappropriate comments but instead wait until after the season or again do in through appropriate channels. Secondly are you really naive enough to believe that Cam bitching changed anything other than prompt a response from Goddell giving lip service to the issue? Did the head shots continue? Yes they did only now each hit was prefaced by a comment that it was legal and not an issue and a general perception that Cam is a whiner and crybaby.

I don't know how you think that worked out well. Anyone knows when you blow whistles on folks everyone circles the wagon and efforts are on covering up not solving the problem. That should be obvious to anyone who pays a modicum of attention to the way things work.

I never said Cam bitchin did anything..I said he should not have had to. You are not getting what I said ...If Rivera says anything there is mo results if he doesn't there is no result....It is not the results I am after but the showing of support behind your Qb is what I am...Not saying he did not do anything behind closed doors. He spoke after Cam he should not have spoke at all if he is not out leading the charge...Thats what I am saying! You are rambling about results and thats not what I am getting at its the principalities about the situation...like I said I agree to disagree and thats fone e everyone has their own way of handling things..but I stand by mines and you stand by yours...Thanks for your insight!

Rivera wasn't leading the charge because he doesn't think Cam should have spoken out publically. But once he did, he supported him and had his back. Much like he didn't think that Cam should have made the comments after the Superbowl but once he did, Rivera had his back. Like he always does.

Thats because Rivera probably felt he would have did the same thing too...talking out of both sides of his mouth...lets just agree to dis agree..we are not changing stance on this.

Worse bc the horrible officiating went beyond Cam, extending to the whole team. Worse bc Cam distracted the team with his comments. Absolutely nothing got better because of the team's complaining. Au contraire, it ran our season into the ground. Don't complain, don't explain, just get up.

The teams were complaining before this...and maybe yes it may have put a target on his back to let teams no this is getting to me..but what the hell do you want him to do..he has tried the videos to the league, spoke to refs...i for one will say something about my safety..next we will probably be laying blows..The point is he should not have had to say anything it should have been the coach that way you don't have Cam looking like he is rattled but the coach being concern about his qb safety while in the pocket...but Rivera couldn't say that because i probably would have taken a shot too came out of his mouth... He could say that publicly but could not defend Cam publicly on the illegal hits

Who cares about a season it was over anyway...not making it to the SB with a limb QB and patched up line.

No because Rivera thinks these things are best handled in the system and not in the media. This philosophy cuts across generational lines and the way people are raised and their experience in the world.  We disagree because we likely have different views and experience in how the world works and how problems get solved.  It isn't entrenched positions so much as our experiences. I am in Ron's generation and I suspect you are closer to Cam's.

Sorry for duplicate..You are wrong. My opinions are based solely on the situation. Has nothing to do with age..it is standing up for something that is right no matter what.Do not try to to assume what my beliefs are because you will be found wrong. I never said Ron was wrong for sending video evidence or working behind doors, but once this incident keeps happening in majority of the games you have to realise that behind doirs is not getting it. What would have happen if Cam got parrallized or turned into a vegetable...Ron probably would say I should have done more spoke out about it maybe...maybe it would have helped and maybe not.  It is about doing all you can when you can.. This type of issue should be spoken out against and handled behind closed doors not just one way. He should have did both my problem is how long it took for him to say something ..But you are right he wouldn't have said anything at all and continued down the path of behind close doors..just like he continues to stand there motionless while his players are being treated like rag dolls or the way we continue to go in prevent defense knowing that its not working , continue rolling tolbert butt out there on the field loosing yards and blocking no one. Continue to do the same when it is not working is the same as doing nothing!

CTE is real

The league needs to own this.

if they are serious, they will mimic college which ejects for head shots and I would add for pro players, first offense, 2 game checks; second, 6; 3rd, one year

dont hold your breath waiting for it

newton was right to speak up,  brains don't heal

what happened to newton in that first game was shameful...shameful on the officials for not calling it, the head coach on the field for not speaking up, and our GM for doing absolutely nothing to fix the tackle situation offseason

    • We can't afford to reach for one of the first round QBs this year. I would love for nothing more than Bryce to be the reason we don't even scout the bastards
