Android or iPhone?

So I am going to be looking at an upgrade soon with Verizon. Trying to decide if I stick with Android or if I go the route most people I know have gone and go over to the iPhone.

Currently have a Motorola Droid Turbo. Loved the phone from the start, haven't had any issues outside of apps crashing sometimes and the camera not always being the best quality. Phone does all the things I want, but there are also features I flat out don't use. I use Google for basically everything (Play Music, Movies, etc), and Android obviously does well with those apps.

I'm a man of simple taste. Don't need a whole lot of flash. Just a dependable phone that doesn't give me many issues. So which do I go with? Stick with what I know, or venture into the world of Apple?

Let your contract expire and start over. I use a Samsung Galaxy and Straight Talk and have never had any problem.

Had Straight Talk for a while, but the data throttling killed me. I use a good bit of data (about 6 or 7 GB per month), so the 2 GB of true high speed data was nowhere near enough for me. Paying about $45 more /month, but I don't mind it.

There are a few things to consider here: iPhones are dumbed down for the masses while Android is a highly fragmented OS. For example, Samsung uses a UI called TouchWiz to run Android, but if you stick with Motorola, you'll likely have a pretty barebones version of Android.

Then, you have to consider the proprietary hardware vs. standard hardware, removable battery or not, removable storage or not...

You should tell your preferences if you want an accurate answer.

They have a 10 GB plan for 55 a month now.

I got the Google Pixel and love it.  Well built, not flashy phone with a great camera.  The beauty of the Google branded phones is that you always have the latest OS and monthly security patches, so no issues with fragmentation.  Plus, you can sign up for Project Fi, and get away from Verizon.
