So we are going back to the well and staying in house. Status quo. This team takes status quo and continuity to the extreme.

Ron has become Fox 2.0. Hes just too unwilling to be the bad guy and fire underperforming people. Im not very optimistic with this offensive "evolution" now that we've just hired people that were already a part of the staff.

We can all thank the "Big Cat" Jerry Richardson for this mess. He is known for being notoriously cheap with paying assistant coaches. Darrin Gantt even went as far to say the same thing a couple weeks back on WFNZ. Hillarious how people actually thought that Rivera showed the least bit initiative and forced Proehl out. It seems like Ricky really wanted to see his kids play and the Panthers really wanted to stay at status quo.

Jerry Richardson is the gift that keeps giving, and I don't mean that in a good way. I mean it more in the way of like herpes.

Fox turned replaced quite a few coaches and coordinators.

Hey! Law&Order in some incarnation has been on TV for 27 years, this formula has worked....for 15 of them.

See what I did there?

Per the Observer article, the pool of possible replacements came from Proehl.

Quote

When Proehl resigned last month to follow his two sons’ college football careers, he said he gave Rivera three names as a possible successor: Former Panthers wideout Jerricho Cotchery, assistant receivers coach Cameron Turner and Taylor.

Basically, Proehl named his successor.

So again, can we now dispense with this dumbass notion that he was forced out?

I've always said the cheapness with Richardson is real, but no one believes me. This offseason will prove this. We have some money to spend, spend it. Who knows if Richardson actually had the say in the Norman incident last year. Maybe we don't have back to back winning seasons because Richardson doesn't want to pay playoff bonuses. Maybe we only have good years when Bojangles is profitable.
