All of this Lebron talk has me wondering

I realize this is a Panthers board but I wanted to generate a discussion.

We all know the saga of Lebron. Hometown hero who took his "talents to south beach" and later returned home when his intent was achieved.

But he left one "big three" in Miami to join another in Cleveland on the way to another title last year. So apparently the tools around him aren't sufficient because he now claims that they "need help." According to Lebron, the Cavs need a "playmaker."

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/sports/wp/2017/01/24/frustrated-lebron-james-desperately-wants-the-cavs-to-get-a-playmaker/

Outside of Charles Barkley, I don't really see anyone throwing him under the bus and most discussions are generated around who the Cavs could bring in to help Lebron and co.

The discussion I want to generate is this:

If an NFL QB were to publicly state that he "needs a playmaker/help" how would the media/fans respond. I don't want to to make this all about Cam and how he is mistreated by the media and so forth, but using him as an example I can't just see this not blowing up if he were to make a comment like this with terms like "entitled" or "cry baby" being thrown around.

What're your thoughts?

Not sure if you've read twitter about Lebron's comments, but he's being called everything except a child of God. They're calling him a cry baby, not an elite player, etc. Basically, he's getting the Cam treatment. I don't think Cam will come out and say that. I'm not even sure he would imply it. I think he'll shoulder the blame before he starts finger pointing. Cam needs more than one or two okay players around him, and that's a fact. I do like Lebron and I do think his spazz out on Barkley was right on time but he pretty much has the same championship team. I think Cleveland (from what little I've watched) has built around him. This is the same team that won a championship and he even lobbied for one or two of them to get the pay they deserved. But Chuck is annoying as hell. Glad someone finally went off.

The media drew their line in the sand with Cam before he was even drafted. If he said it, he's a crybaby who can't get the job done and can only exceed in the perfect situation (ignoring the fact that he's carried this offense his entire career). If someone like Rodgers or Brady says it then they're showing their competitive fire.

Just the way it is. Tune out the noise. The media is paid to get attention so outlets can sell advertisements, they're not paid to necessarily make valid points.

To the casual observer they appear correct. They see that he fumbled the super bowl away and then acted less than ideal afterwards. Not everyone in the country is wanting to like him like we are as fans and giving him the benefits of the doubts. We would view him that way if he played for another team....certainly if he played for a rival or hated team.

A buddy of mine told me just yesterday, the Panthers need to get rid of Cam. I asked him why?   Suffice to say, same old shite going back to to Florida... Everybody can grow and get some perspective, unless you are a QB on a rival team.

They won the Championship with FAs and he's whining?

I don't hate the guy personally but he's got to get some awareness

That championship was a gimmie and Lebron knows it...the warriors took their foot off the gas...I haven't  watched any season only the playoffs. Love does not put any fear in my heart its just the big 2...Lebron is getting older and probably slowing down. He deserves help like all other supers..But comparing him to MJ and saying he is better is a different story because of the era of basketball.. He does give you the best well rounded skill set...and just like Cam just because i am big and strong should not mean you get to throw elbows, clobber me all upside the head and take my legs out..I would cry too. What it does mean ..Is that you have to get someone of equal length and strength and skill set..or scheme around it. This is not fair and it is body profiling which is the same as racial profiling.

Isn't Irving supposed to be that other other guy?

I don't  think i would say he fumbled the game away because they would have had to punt and time was not on our side. I would say that it was a team loss and the coaches should have gotten help for the right tackle..Denver defense was just too much. Being that was maybe the only game or 2nd game i had seen of the panthers. On the interview I would mot have cared he shook peytons hand and thats all i would care for. People look for ways to dislike Cam so what he didn't answer the questions and say what people wanted him to say..or stand and have tears in his eyes.People say they pay you to do a job..well guess what their are many roles and functions to the job and nobody does their job perfect. There is always some function that you don't do as good of a job as you would like or your bosd would like. But when you look at all the job roles and functions that you do have success with and they are the ones that effect the bottom line thats what gets you the respect the raises not the minor functions. So what he walked out on the press conference I think he gave the media what they wanted just not their way but his way. Bottom line is who cares, some people want to and feel like their important and disappointed when reality hits.
