Broncos to go after Ted Ginn

I think Ginn will stay. I also think those of you downplaying his value to this team don't have a clue about how important vets are to our team and locker room.  He is our most senior wide receiver and a pro.  Look what losing Harper, Tillman and Norman did to the secondary last year.  This isn't Madden. Sometime vets play a critical role off and on the field.

I don't know him personally,  but listening to Ginn in interviews, he doesn't seem much like the take charge leader type.

For that matter if you listen to interviews Gettleman and Rivera don't either. But interviews tell little about what goes on in the locker room.

Ginn is a valuable asset to this team.  He was probably one of the only players (outside of Olsen) to get open.  Cam trusts him and is a good asset.

That said, if he leaves good bye.  I don't want to see him in 2018 cause he was cut by his former team.  If he can't realize that his best runs in football have been with Carolina than chase the money and enjoy your retirement but it won't come in Carolina.

I hope Gman offers him a fair and reasonable deal.  Ginn would be a fool not to take it.

I hope we don't see Ginn headed elsewhere. He's our only deep threat on the team and while his punt returns are generally headed east/west rather than north/south, he's been pretty steady for us.

There are a lot of folks posting about Byrd or someone else getting the chance if Ginn goes. Well, there's one thing nice about a 6-10 season -- you can be pretty much assured that there isn't someone being held back and sitting on the bench, a diamond waiting to be found. After a bad season like this, you can pretty much guarantee that if there was even the slightest bit of potential then the guy was thrown out onto the field at one time or another.

Tedd might not be one of the best in the league when it comes to catching the ball, but he sure is one of the fastest and the opposing team has to account for his ability on every play he's part of. If we just had another guy as fast as him who could catch, we could wear out opposing defenses by just running alternating go routes against them.

Ginn's not leaving, this is the only NFL team where he's ever been of any relevance. He's a true no. 2 receiver here, if he goes anywhere else he will be relegated to 3rd or 4th, and will see most of his time back returning punts.

Then after the season at age 33 he'd be a cap casualty that is the most likely case. At this point in his career he ''should'' have ''enough'' money and you'd think at this point it would be about playing, and winning. But I also do not have contracts worth millions potentially staring me in the face in 2 months.

Yep,not sure why so many people on here love guys like Philly and Byrd. Philly is a bottom of the roster type WR who isn't a great special teamer. That's the type of guy who usually has a tough time sticking to rosters. Byrd is a guy who can run fast, but we haven't at all seen that translate on the field. Sorry, of you can't crack the active roster as a WR on last year's roster, you're not an NFL caliber WR.

My thing is if he is not good why have him on the team period. In the little playing time byrd has had he has shown promise...i just don't get why he hasn't had any playing time..He has been on the team what 2 to 3 yrs and yet really has not seen the field..if it akes that long to develope without adequate play time then he should not be on the team...thats why i say these coaches are not good at evaluating talent..by the time he does hit the field he will be older and contract about to end just like Norman..get 1 good yr out of him and then ship him off for him to have success else where..it is best to let these players have hands on in game experience..its not like we have world beaters at wrs.

That is fine.  If they want to overpay for a over-the-hill receiver who's a coin flip to catch the deep ball.  There are a TON of mid to late round WRs that could instantly step in and replace Ginn.   Wide outs like Artavius Scott (Clemson), KD Cannon (Baylor) Stacey Coley (Miami) Isiah Ford (VT) Zay Jones (ECU) Tawan Taylor (WKU) Chris Godwin (Penn State) Chad Hansen (Cal).

Draft is deep with better catching Ginns.

Would hate to see him leave but wouldn't overpay.  Maybe a 2 year $2 mill deal.  Broncos will probably overpay.
