Is Joe Mixon definitely off of our draft board?

You have a long ways to go before you are a man.

If you ever get there.

Man stop with this holier than thou stance.

Now we're saying someone isn't a man because his views and way of processing a situation is different than yours. People grow up differently and view situations differently, that doesn't make them wrong.

I bet she won't hit nobody anymore. She's no victim in my eyes. I'm a small guy, hell probably smaller than her, but if you put me in her shoes people would just laugh at me. We as a society have to stop giving women a pass to hit men, period.

My thoughts on the subject of a man hitting a woman in response to something the woman does as in this case...

Men and women were clearly created much differently, and they really aren't equal physically (of course there are exceptions) at all. Men are far superior to women physically. A difference like chimpanzee compared to man in size, strength, speed, physical ability, etc. This isn't really up for debate, it's just a fact and a part of nature on this planet. Feminists and liberals today want to pretend this isn't true and try to make men and women equal in every way. For example, people wanting WNBA players and NBA player to make the same. Or men and women who work in construction and do the same job to make the same, even though the man because of his size and strength will do the job better (assuming both are equally hard working. Of course a lazy guy doing a poor job shouldn't make the same as a woman working her ass off and doing a better job despite being smaller and weaker).

When looking at how the vocal liberal crowd and the media and feminists view this and how the times are changing then Mixon shouldn't have even gotten a misdemeanor. In fact, she should've been charged with something, and if she were a male (even as small/weak as her compared to Mixon) then he would've been charged with something and Mixon would've gotten off, rightfully. She started the physical encounter twice and he reacted with one punch. These people want to defy nature and make men and women completely equal in all regards, then she is the only one who should be in trouble here. Instead he was charged, has the stigma which will affect him the rest of his life and she is likely going to sue and get a massive payday.

I personally believe Mixon was a PoS in that instance and I wouldn't ever do that to a woman (or small man) who posed no threat to me, but I can't put myself in his shoes. The supposed anti-gay talk and racist back and forth between them and him following her was stupid as well, but kids do stupid stuff like that all the time. People's brains don't fully develop until 25. Mixon was barely 18 when this happened. Everybody's done stupid stuff as a teenager/young adult. This was to me very bad to do but shouldn't have any effect on the rest of his life (though it will) other than for him to learn from.

It's not a holier than thou stance.

She didn't go looking for him.

She didn't go into that deli looking for a confrontation.

Anybody who thinks that, is beyond stupid.

Mixon put himself into that situation, and made a mistake. That mistake has consequences. Which include, he will never be a Panther.

Yes, people learn from mistakes.

There is no justification for hitting a woman, especially in the video of this instance.

I will just say, we don't exactly know what want on between these two in their conversations before the physical altercation. All we can see in the video is what happened physically, and he was just standing there when he was pushed by her, and then he made a threatening lunge at her but didn't touch her at all and she responded by slapping him in the face (and there's a possibility she spit on him at some point there). She did all that, without him laying a finger on her. She did all that in response to just words. Are any of those really that big a deal? To me not really and I'd probably resist from reacting to her at all (though I'd never put myself in that situation), but it's a natural reaction to respond by throwing a punch when you are hit in the face. Of course he made bad decisions here and was a retard to put himself in that situation. But he was 18 years old, those types of things are to be expected with kids around that age. The situation is being completely blown out of proportion and is not a big deal at all. Yes there are consequences, that's the reality we live in. We're discussing here whether those consequences are right or wrong. I agree that he likely won't be a Panther based on what we know but I'm not certain that he'll be taken off of our draft board. This situation is not at all the same as Hardy's, Rice's, Worley's, etc. Each needs to be looked at individually and I'm sure DG and the staff will do that and make a decision. Probably one that takes him off of our draft board but I don't know that for sure, and neither do you. I wish Jeremy would chime in as I'm sure he has more knowledge about this than any of us do (though I feel like I remember posts here about Worley before the draft and Jeremy saying we wouldn't touch him because of his DV incident... maybe not).

Oh, okay.  Glad your opinion means something.  Random internet message board guy.

Doesn't change that fact that you can justify hitting a female.

Which definitely disqualifies you as being a man, in the eyes of anyone who has morals.

Call me whatever you want.

Only on the internet can you justify hitting a woman when you are training to be a pro athlete...  To those of y'all justifying it, imagine someone hit your sister/mother/wife/female you care about.  Would you think of these "she had it coming?"  or "well, people are dumb."

C'mon.  Let's have some morals please.  Just because the Hammurabi code was mentioned in the Bible doesn't make it a realistic way to behave.

I've literally stated multiple times I wouldn't of hit her.  But, it's 2017.  Assault is assault, whether you like it or not.

Since she hit him, spit on him, slapped him, among other things.  She did all this FIRST.

FYI, in 2017.  A woman can literally be a crack addict, and continuously do crack, and still have the man pay child support.  Even though the man is perfectly fine, has a job, and no prior drug use.  I've witnessed this happen in a county in North Carolina.  Where the man had to hire a spy to LITERALLY follow this woman around for a year, before he could get full custody of his kids.  It took a whole year.

You need to stop living in a fantasy world, sir.  You're better off in life when you do.

I've talked to educated women about this incident, and they all said the same thing.  Don't put your hands on another adult.  Period.  Maybe it's "old school" morals you guys have at this point.

It's not really that. I am one of the most "old school" and conservative people I know of in terms of morals and values, but I can look at the facts of this situation and use my brain. It's just irrational thinking by people.

Ah, yeah.  I can agree with that.
