City has had some misfires with signings in the past but they needed to completely replace the fullbacks. And since every team knows they are willing to pay, they pay a premium for players. Hopefully the moves work out and there won't be a need to splurge again in the next transfer window.

£250M worth of misfiring

Matic to United for £40M, as I'm sure a lot of you have seen by now.

Matic will more than likely kick Lingard to the bench and allow Pogba to play much higher up the field. I expect United to go with: GK: De Gea, RB: Valencia, CB: Lindelof, CB: Bailly, LB: Blind (for now), CDM: Matic, CM: Pogba, CM: Herrera, LW: Mkhitaryan, RW: Rashford, ST: Lukaku. Furthermore, this United team has more depth than I've seen a United team have in a long time. Man U can literally fill out an entire second team: GK: Romero, RB: Fosu-Mensah, CB: Smalling, CB: Jones, LB: Darmian, CDM: Carrick, CM: Fellaini, CM: Mata, LW: Martial, RW: Lingard, ST: Rashford/Wilson

I'm also leaving out Andreas Pereira, Scott McTominay, Angel Gomes, Ashley Young, Marcos Rojo (injured), Luke Shaw (injured), Axel Tuanzebe, and Joel Pereira

United's last piece to the puzzle is Perisic, we'll see if it gets done.

United are also said to be extending Herrera and Mata

What puzzle is that?  Top 4?  BTW you can only play 11 at a time.  MU dont worry me much.

We're easily right behind Chelsea last year if we could have turned half of our league leading 15 draws (a lot of which were 0-0 / 1-1) into wins. Not to mention we fielded a defense that allowed the second least amount of goals in the EPL last year. If United can score this year they will be dangerous.

I'm also aware that only 11 play but when you are playing in four competitions in the year, it's nice to have depth.

United plays boring soccer.  Mourinho is a master of parking the bus.  United will be shredded by good passing teams.

Arsenal preparing to bid for Jean Seri.  He's a carbon copy of Kante.  Would be a perfect fit in Arsenal midfield. Barcelona tried to buy him a year ago.

Arsenal also hoping Monaco will drop £80M asking price for Lemar who they purchased a year ago for 500k...  talking about return on investment.

You do realize that those two only had a 1% higher difference in successful passes than Man City, right?

https://www.whoscored.com/Statistics

Same site shows an overall statistical rating of 0.1 better than my guys, and we weren't even the champs.

That stat doesn't hold much wait in my opinion. Successful passes don't record where the passes are occurring. The Vancouver Whitecaps can pass the ball around the back four, but not many teams have the ability to play the tiki-taka style to breakdown Man Utd's defense. It didn't happen last year and it won't this year either.
