We had a cat 15 years ago or so that lost its tail as a kitten due to injury...  When it got older, it became a typical country cat that was half wild but showed up and hung around a bit and let you play with it and stuff. When he got the feral thing going, he bulked up almost to bobcat size. He was a beast, and after that we just started calling him J Pep.
