Analyst: Panthers WRs Kelvin Benjamin, Devin Funchess are ‘bigs who play small,

Wondering if KB was less physical this year because he didn't completely trust his knee after the ACL.

That would make total sense and you know sometimes I really did question his effort but if he continues to look lethargic on the field next season I'm going to say it's not because the ACL I'm gonna say is because he's just being kelvin and that ain't good poo to be said. And anyway I don't think they should have inserted home so early I think they should've eased him back into playing full speed but that's just my opinion

I completely agree... they both play small, especially Fun. They arent getting seperation, so i don't know if it's Cam fault for not throwing the ball higher, wait..Cam not throwing high, it's not Cam's fault. They need to go get the ball at its highest point and secure it before coming within the defenders arm reach...

KB plays up to his size as well as any big WR I've seen. He has other problems that lead to his struggles. Hopefully the new WR coach can get more out of both Funch and KB. I loved Proehl but started to question really how good of a coach he was here.

I thought it was bizarre how often Cam was hitting them low or in the chest all season.  Like as soon as we got the tall guys for his high tosses he started over-correcting himself.

It's always that way you Try to fix the problem and the person who had a problem tries to fix the problem that you tried to solve. But it doesn't matter how accurate some balls Cam throws like the one he threw kelvin in the raiders game it look like he was seconds away from dropping that ball and it hit him directly in the chest but I don't know the only person that knows what's up is Kelvin

Sorry, it's not his ACL. Benjamin played this way in his rookie season too. I don't fawn over garbage performances.

You've been dogging on that man since we drafted him.

If we see a repeat of the same stuff next season I guess you can feel bizarrely vindicated. Of course that will mean we wasted a first rounder basically. Why is it our own fans look to find strange silver linings to failure by gloating about poor performances by the players on their favorite team? It's no wonder we have yet to witness back to back winning seasons with such asshattery from our fans.

Every year PF talks prospects and every year he's left looking like an idiot. Don't even waste your time. I mean it wasn't even a month ago PF went on about how so and so wasn't qualified to be a coordinator or whatever and literally the next day that guy got hired for the job PF said he wouldn't be able to get. The guy bashes KB constantly.

Anyway, Benjamin has always played up to his size. What Benjamin was able to achieve coming off the type of knee injury he had was remarkable. So many of you seem to forget KB was still very raw coming out of FSU and was thrown into the #1 WR role immediately and did nothing but produce.

Benji lost his sophomore season to injury, the experience that comes with that and spent his entire offseason rehabbing. Despite all that he was 59 yards shy of ANOTHER 1000 yard receiving season. This kid is primed to have a monster year in 2017.

Now Funchess on the other hand...

Anyone who watched him at Michigan kinda knew the type of player we were getting. He's never been the 'bully' type like KB. Funch likes to disappear come game time.

Having a hard time reading this one but I think I get you lol.

Problem with the high balls is KB can't catch everything and those become free-for-alls when they bounce off of his hands. Low balls are less interception prone but then you negate the height advantage, and for KB it's asking for drops and fumbles unless they're placed perfectly. I actually don't think Funchess gets enough credit for how often he pulls off catches that almost kiss the turf.

My how the mighty have fallen...just a few months ago KB was being praised for his toughness, declared a franchise #1 WR, projected for 15 + TD's and described as a more physical version of Brandon Marshall and Julio Jones, etc...... Even being compared to 89.

Personally, I don't fully grasp the dislike of KB or Funchess around here from many. Disappointed based on high expectations maybe, but it's way too early to dump on either.

I agree.

As for Funch, dude is practically still in pampers. Is he even 22 yet? I think we need to boost his confidence, the talent is there, just gotta build him up. If we see the same stuff next year I'll begin to get concerned, but it's still early.

Either way, the failure of either guy is the last thing any Panthers fan should want to see or hear about. We can't afford the few high picks we've actually spent on offense the last half decade to turn out to be busts.
