So, in 2016 you really think the read-option worked well? You felt that our deep drops on 2nd/3rd and short worked well for us and our injured OL. I sure as heck didn't feel like our scheme was a gem.

I didn't say his scheme was perfect, or that it didn't cause issues. I said it wasn't the biggest issue. People want one person to just pin a season on, and it's not that easy. The truth is the team as a whole under performed. That includes the FO, Coaching and the players themselves in execution.

If you want to say there's a better guy for the job, then fine. There are better guys out there, who could maybe do more with the talent. But let's not get all high and mighty and act like the supporting cast of this team is all that great either. They have two "big" WR who play small and lazy a large percentage of the time, another explosive WR who's extremeny inefficiant, no RB or TE depth to speak of. Lump that in with the injuries and poor QB play of 2016 and this was a clusterfug from week three. Doesn't mean it can't be better in 2017, but acting like replacing Shula is the magic answer to our woes is foolish.

I found it interesting cause it sounds like he'd be fine with taking OJ Howard at 8 if he really does like him like he says

OJ Howard will beast the combine so it wouldn't be a surprise.

I remember Ol' Greg Olsen beasting the combine, and then was a "reach" on draft day because many didn't see him as the same level prospect that Winslow Jr. and Shockey were coming out of the U. Thought he was just an athlete.

The rest is history. Maybe Howard, with Olsen showing him the ropes, can be that dude.

Has there ever been a TE taken in the top ten that was worth it?

Vernon Davis was worth it (6), Ditka is in the Hall (5) and Riley Odoms you could argue was as well. Only been 18 total taken in the top ten.

Vernon Davis?

Bad example. Dude has been a journeyman and a let down.

Every time he goes to a new team, they say "well, it looks like he might have finally found a place where he can be productive "... and by the end of the season is on the chopping block.

That's great....he's averaged almost 13 yards per reception and has the eighth most career touchdowns at the TE position. Since 1920. Olsen is 12th most all time btw and Wesley Walls ninth.

Some of you are literally too stupid to even be giving your opinions on a message board.

You should take lesson in attacking the issue and not the person, if you want to lecture people on their ability to post on message boards.

Personal attacks discredit whatever validity the remainder of your post says.

Tight Ends that test well at the combine and are polished go high. Heck, an unpolished TE that tested well in the combine (Ebron) went in the top ten and Howard is a much better prospect. Like I said....my money would be on him being gone by 15. He's an athletic pass catching TE that is also a fairly well rounded blocker before he even steps foot on an NFL field. That will be coveted.

Just to illustrate your point.
