Three guys Gettleman likes: Villanova DE Tanoh Kpassagnon, TE O.J. Howard and A&M DE Myles Garrett (not at Sr bowl) per Jourdan Rodrigue

Regardless of our pick at 8, if any of these (edit: predicted first round) guys we're talking about are still there at the end of the first, do you think DG will try to move up from 40?  Does it make sense? What would we have to give up to make that move.

Theoretically we'd get a better player that we'd have to pay more for, but they'd also come with a 5th year option that is cheaper than if we had drafted them at 8.

Who could you see slipping past, say, 20 ?

Ex: we take Fournette at 8, do you think either safety could be there at 20? Do we make a move to get them?

I don't know. Howard doesn't interest me. He reminds me of Julius Thomas. He's the type of guy who will succeed ONLY with a good QB and system.

I prefer Njoku.

You must not have watched any bama football...bama qbs suck and he did fairly well even though he was under utilized.

DG has yet to trade down, and given his talk about dollars and dimes I doubt hell do it. If we take OJ itll be at 8. And if Hes as good of a TE as people are saying then I am completely OK with this. He will help us in the run game and the pass game, and hopefully give Cam another option on 3rd down.

I don't care for Bama football. 95% of their prospects hit their ceiling when they get there. Howard is athletic. So what? So was Ebron. In college, sole guys could get away with it. In the NFL, nopeeeee.

No there is no guarantee that anyone coming out of college will be successfuland i dislike bama as well. I was just saying that the guy was under utilize and still played good...this would be a good thing for him because Nick Saban gets the full potential out of his kids and usually i think burns them out.

Howard has not been fully utilize so I think he will do well in the NFL...you said he would not do well unless he had a good qb..but really thats any receiver..it takes the qb to get the ball to the receiver..Howard has done well with bamas poor qbs. He runs good routes, blocks and can catch. So i don't get your assumption.

He was absolutely discussed as the #1 pick before the heart issue came up. EJ Manuel was the top QB so Lineman were discussed as the top pick. Look at the top 14. Only Ansah, Richardson and Star have been solid players. The rest have been awful or mediocre at best. I know people say DG loves DTs but Star and Short were great picks considering what else was there

I remember him being talked about as a top 5 pick. Did a quick google search to find someone saying he should be first overall and couldn't. Thats really not my point though. Garret isn't falling to us, which was my point. Not sure if you guys are trying to argue that he will be or just nit picking me

People forget who our OC is...I mean what good will it do to get Howard when he hasn't figured out what to do with a top 10 QB, the BEST TE in Football and a servicable RB. With a supporting cast around as well?

Three back to back 1K seasons is not figuring out what to do?!

So you're directly implying that Greg Olsens success is all Shula's offensive masterminding and offensive scheme, that's what you're saying?

lol. What's next, "Being MVP is not figuring out what to do?!" This guy.

Single accolades like those mask the true problems. This isn't a high scoring offense. It's a slow, running style offense that has slow developing plays. That's the mantra. There is no adjustment at all even if it's not working. Don't play it off like Olsen's success is Shula's doing. That's more Cam and Olsen than Shula. This is why they need to evolve. It's a pass happy league and we're already behind. Shula is that dead weight, whether you like to acknowledge it or not.
