6/10 games lost by 3 points or less. 6 games with a 4th Q lead as well I believe

I think if you combine these facts with the injuries along the OL as well as Luke's concussion, we right there are a lot better than our 6-10 record would reflect. The #6 seed was 9-7, so it wasn't like we were that far off.

Add in the #8 overall pick (franchise stud), #40, along with two others before the 100th pick as well as over $30MM in FA. We are young, have a core on both sides of the ball that just needs a little support and infusion here and there of talented vets.

Our SB window is still wide open and I think a good 4-5 years of competing for it is certainly in our future.

The Falcons don't concern me. I could see Belicheck shutting them down and then the tape is out there on how to shut them down, which the rest of the league will adapt to when playing them. Remove Shannahan and you have the same recipe that stopped us in '16. I think the NFCS is on the brink of being the power conference for a few years. Us, Atlanta and Tampa Bay are young and chocked full of talent on both sides of the ball.

This is happening with me too... So much so I'm debating getting a recent Madden (probably not '17) so that I can run our franchise the way it should be... lol... I've looked at '16 and '15, but can't decide what I want to do. Then on one hand I'd like to get '17 because of Cam dabbing... lol...

I haven't had a Madden since '10, and trying to go that far back and catch up to now has been meh.

Get '17, while it isn't perfect it's plenty enjoyable. The only thing is, outside of Olsen, receivers will drop a lot of passes if there is contact. The game is pretty accurate in depiction in that regard lol.

I thought I read something about Franchise mode in 17, though, that turned a lot of people off from previous years. I can't remember what it was but I will try to look it up. Plus, it's still like $25-$35 more than like '16, and I can't see wasting that on something that is probably just going to be played a few days a year.

Do you think the Franchise mode in '17 is worth it?

Guess it really just boils down to how much you're going to play it. Looks like it's going to be a long offseason unfortunately.

20-1 odds tells me that they are aware of our "every other year" of relevant football.

Also, the Falcons have been good before, and then slipped off.

Inconsistency is a common theme of the NFC South. The South always has one relevant team per season, but rarely is it the same team every year.

Not so sure about Shula, but I'm hoping this season gave Dave a kick in the pants enough to just say fug it and add as much talent as he can. I'm way more hopeful than you because I look at how bad we played and know that with just not missing key FGs and less pick 6s/INTs on 1st and goal and we were in the playoffs. Simple as that as bad as Cam played and the staff seemed to coach, we easily could have been in the playoffs. We aren't the teams drafting near us, the Bears, 49ers, Jax, Browns, Jets, Rams, etc. Those teams can't just point to bad mistakes and say they should have beaten KC, Denver and Oakland. 6-10 sucked, but we are a lot better than our record.

You have a point. We played bad all season due to injuries, inexperience, bad coaching and flat it bad decisions. I'm not worried about the defense though. I think this past season probably needed to happen in hindsight because everybody needed to open their eyes. We can't just ride Cam's back, we need catching receivers, we need more than a read option lol. We have work to do, hopefully they do it.

We will see how good that ATL defense is against NE. GB could have easily had over 30 points had they not shot themselves in the foot. And, the ATL offense is not going to score 40-some points against a real NFL defense.

Everything is so easy here. Just like our last game against you guys prople here was saying just that "stop Julio, then do this & that.. easy." Now all of a sudden the Packers could have scored 30 easy. Laughable. They were down 10-0 before they sniffed the red zone then didn't score until they were down 31-0 early in the 3rd so how the hell could they have scored 30 easy when they didn't see the redzone again until the 3rd? -___- The clown talk here is ridiculous & yes I was here last year enjoying you guys show without the blind hate homerism.. it wasn't "easy" but I made it out ok. Just thought I'd let you know before I get the "where were you last year" speech.

What do you expect? A "omg we're never overcoming the Failcons"

I think your defense is underrated. I think the same about the Patriots.

It'll be a close game. But if Shanahan leaves, I do not expect you guys getting near us. Our defense is improving and will be a top 10 unit - at the minimum - next year. I can see us being top 5 as well. We still have a top 3 front seven, and our corners are getting it. Find a nice safety, and you'll see us getting back on the throne.

Did I mention we'll finally have a healthy o-line, and you could see us getting the likes of Fournette, Leggett/Njoku, and other top tier pieces on offense?

Won't be easy for you guys next year. If we're healthy, it'll be tough for any NFC South team to keep pace. Our offenses, though different in style, would be about equal if Cam matches his 2015 performance.

Our defenses, well, ours is superior by far.

Good luck this year, but you won't find it so easy to keep up a perpetual "thing" for the next few years.

How do you come to the conclusion that if Kyle leaves our O will go with him? We won't change schemes & we aren't losing any players so how do you figure our O will be so much different?
