Hrmm....go to the About Us section, and that tells you something.  Here are some interesting Core Values....

While I don't know enough to know what's quality scientific research, putting such holy rolling language into their core values does give me pause.

It doesn't get much better in their objectives section either.

I don't really consider that holy rolling language. I read their mission and core values and it seems to me that they are more interested in the well being of the child's development. What they are promoting, mother/father married family unit, emphasis on prenatal care, and abstinence may all be ideal, it's not how the real world works. I don't see a problem working towards "ideal" as long as they're willing to live in reality.

The reason is because getting HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) happens to almost every single sexually active woman. The issue is not truly whether you get it or not but whether it progresses to a carcinoma.

For females getting regular pap-smears every 3 years is recommended, however some OBGYN's still believe in yearly screening- which I tend to agree with.

Vaccination, as Jermey, says is the only true way to prevent cancer. Females and Males should get the vaccine.

Why so you can get it at any age because if so I will definitely talk to my doctor

Highly likely.

All I'm saying is that it's impossible to conduct intellectually honest research when you're coming from such a heavily biased perspective.

there are people and organizations who subscribe to a particular position on that topic (trying to be very careful with my words here) and have been noted as having a problem with the HPV vaccine because they think it promotes promiscuity

Yeah those are the same people who don't like Planned Parenthood even though not every single person that goes there gets an abortion said people are also the ones who don't believe in birth control because that also promotes promiscuous even though it's not necessarily use to prevent pregnancy

HPV is running rampant. Basically anyone who has been sexually active has had it. I know lots of women in the same situation as her.

Vaccinate your teens, people.

So many potential horrible side effects with that vaccine. Those who were pushing it initially are now opposed to it. Understand the potential risks before getting that vaccine. One study stated it actually increases the risks of precancerous lesions.

Just saying I would not have given her HPV. You made the wrong choice Erin.

I was hoping to read through this thread without any posts like this one to restore my faith in humanity, but here we are. Thanks for the reminder.
