Erin Andrews has cervical cancer.

Erin Andrews net worth is estimated to be $59-60M. She makes $1.6M annually from Dancing With the Stars and her network football/sports gig.

If you're that prone to crowd anxiety, take a charter or private flight. Plenty of people making a lot less money do exactly that. I'm sure one of the networks who employ her could foot the bill if she can't.

Next month will be year 5 since my wife entered remission. It's scary how fast it changes. Hers went from a 1, which is basically normal but hpv has caused a small "irregularity" to immediate surgery in less than a year because it was borderline cancerous. We weren't sure if it was cancer or not because it was so close in the transition the doctors  couldn't tell.

It has been a long 5 years of waiting for the all clear, not to mention the emotional and physical toll it has taken on my wife. Get checked and have your wives and children get checked if they have been sexually axtive. This isn't something to be ashamed or embarrassed about.

Almost 5 years and I'm still as nervous about next month as I was the first follow up. I'm glad we caught it early.

The HPV vac is now being said to cause cervical cancer

Where?  Just googling it brings up some fairly reputable websites that say the vaccine, gardisl, is safe.

Gardisl protects from many, but not all variations of cervical cancer.  it could be that those who are getting cancers have a type that is not guarded.

Maybe it wasn't cancer but there is uncertainty whether or not it's safe. Here's one that links the vaccine to premature ovarian failure.

The anti-vaccination "movement" is really grasping at straws these days. So many of their claims have been shot down by clinical trials and actually looking at the numbers, but they just keep throwing every piece of mud that they can find at the wall hoping that something will actually stick. That's why they're largely simply dismissed by the medical community. There's no actual attempt to verify claims before throwing the mud at the wall.

There are pretty extensive reports from the AC Peds regarding their studies and conclusions. It's not like I'm quoting Jenny McCarthy here.

Interesting, that hormonal birth control was masking some of the test results...

Goes to show that we need to continue to research the issue.  But we also have to do something against HPV.  Crappy situation.

I have a very difficult time taking anything seriously that comes from a group that was founded solely out of political and/or religious motivation. AC Peds is a very small right wing, Christian group. Of all the pediatricians in this country, only about 500 of them are a member. My father in law is a pediatrician. He's also a Fox News watching, lib hating, dyed in the wool conservative. He thinks AC Peds are a bunch of crack pots. That says a lot.

So you're saying their findings and claims are Alternative Facts?

Hrmm....go to the About Us section, and that tells you something.  Here are some interesting Core Values....

Quote
  1. Recognizes the fundamental mother-father family unit, within the context of marriage, to be the optimal setting for the development and nurturing of children and pledges to promote this unit.
  2. Recognizes the unique value of every human life from the time of conception to natural death and pledges to promote research and clinical practice that provides for the healthiest outcome of the child from conception to adulthood.
  3. Recognizes the physical and emotional benefits of sexual abstinence until marriage and pledges to promote this behavior as the ideal for adolescence.

While I don't know enough to know what's quality scientific research, putting such holy rolling language into their core values does give me pause.

It doesn't get much better in their objectives section either.

Highly likely.

All I'm saying is that it's impossible to conduct intellectually honest research when you're coming from such a heavily biased perspective.

It's also tough to come to fair conclusions when you have pharma companies funding your research. But I'm far from a doctor or expert (I tailgate for a living).
