Chip Kelly to Falcons?

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports the Falcons will look at Chip Kelly to replace likely-departing OC Kyle Shanahan.

Shanahan is fully expected to become the 49ers' next head coach, leaving the Falcons with a vacancy at coordinator. Kelly was a serious candidate for the Jaguars' coordinator job and will reportedly meet with Bill Belichick about a position with the Patriots. Switching to Kelly's scheme would be a risk for the most potent attack in the league, but it is reasonable to believe Kelly will have much more success if he is allowed to just focus on the offensive side of the ball. Even so, the Falcons would be wise to look for some continuity with their next coordinator.

Good, we have no problems stopping Kelly offenses. Even when they demolished us in '14, it was more due to our offense's turnovers and poor play from that side of the ball and special teams than it was because Kelly's offense caused us problems.

I would not be opposed to chip Kelly as our OC provided that was all he was allowed to do. I think he's a creative oc and when paired with one of the greatest athlete/qb to play I think that'd be a fantastic combo

His college tempo offense doesn't work.   He destroyed a playoff team in Philly and reduced them to absolutely nothing bringing in all his type of players.   Putting him with Cam would be disastrous.

    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
    • I would say maybe 8 in a tier by themselves and all but 2 where picked in the top of the first allen pat m stroud burrow jackson hurts (maybe) Herbert Stafford
