How is that our offense is number 1 and then fall off the next year? Shula didn't adjust. KB went down, so Cam had to make adjustments at the LOS and spread the ball around. KB comes back and Funchess get a year experience, we're running Shula offense and we suck. Our offense was only good 1 season under Shula

The real truth is

Ron and Shula relies on a top 5 defense to win games. Since Ron been here, he hasn't had a season over .500 with a defense that wasn't in the top 10. Our defense fell off and we sucked. This is why I fully expect Ron and DG to put all the attention to the defense again this off-season. I'll be shocked if they dont

We have to rely on the defense becasue that's where we invested heavily in the draft while depriving offense of needed talent.

You cant adjust if you dont have players with that skill set  to run the new scheme specifcally  a thing called  route running* . I blame it on DG's obession of size beliving that supposed  twin towers can just bully their way on the field against NFL defenses.

This team should be balanced with the type of young cores we have on the both sides of the field.

Defense's 12th man  is the run game, history has proven that when you lose the 12th man elite defenses falls off the perch aka Seattle & Denver.

The NFC has been laughably weak this year. This is just the cherry on top.

Anyone still making excuses for the hatchet job by the FO this offseason should have their heads examined. We should be battling Atlanta right now.

ITS.

COACHING.

It's both.

Hence, "front office".

Oh... OK.

(But I still think the majority of our problems is directly attributable to coaching and scheme.  But, yes, last offseason from a general management perspective was a disaster.  And that's including the fact that I 100% *agree* with what DG did with Norman.)
