Something odd i have noticed with the cold or flu this year.

Hope everything works out for you on this. George Clooney was hit with Bell's Palsy as a teenager and in the end it gave him that smile he's famous for.

There definitely has been some stuff going around but don't get me started on anti-vaccinators. 

Before one of you responds with the classic: "the flu shot doesn't help" or my personal favorite "you just have to wash your hands" (when we both know damn well you don't watch your hands religiously)

The flu shot is our best guess at what the top 5 or so strains of influenza will be present that year. This is scientifically predicted and decided sometime around May for the next year. It takes a while to come up with the vaccine and mass produce it for our consumption.

 So yes, sometimes they get it wrong and there is a strain of the flu that gets around because.....wait for it......NO ONE is immunized against it!

What a novel concept. 

 

TL;DR everytime some idiot argues against the flu vaccine by pointing to someone with the flu they are indirectly arguing in favor of the vaccine.

I got sick back in November.  Worst case of the flu I've had in years.  I went and got my flu shot yesterday because of this thread.  I couldn't handle another round of that even if it was only half as bad.

My sister had this 10 years ago from severe cold.  She made a full recovery but it took many doctor visits

By the way...  I also had two colds, one around Thanksgiving and the other two weeks later.
