Panthers stuck with Dorsey

Funny how nobody wants Dorsey or Shula... maybe the universe is telling us something?

I remember at fan fest when Cam was directing the wave Dorsey stood helplessly behind him with a ball in his hand and kept just saying "Cam, Cam, Cam". Dorsey appears to have no authority or power in that relationship. I'm not saying Cam shouldn't have directed the wave during fan fest (it's become a tradition) or Dorsey shouldn't want Cam to focus on practice, but it was pathetic to watch him stand there waiting for Cam. You know Cam isn't going to stop what he's doing to run through a drill at that point so you move on, or give the reps to someone else... that's how you retain control and earn some respect in that situation. When Cam is done directing the wave he turns around and your on the other end of the field continuing to run drills, so you make him come to you - it's a subtle message from the coach that I'm going to do my job and practice will continue with or without you.

and NO, Cam didn't struggle this season because he missed a few reps at fan fest while he was directing the wave... so please don't even start that.

Is it not a sign that no one wants these coaches? Seriously, on paper and looking in from the outside, Shula had the number 1 offense last year. Not even a tap for an interview. I'd rather have Weinke here as QB coach then Dorsey, who literally has no tools on being a QB. Shula could have went with McD, but he knew better. This should all tell you something about this organizaiton.

To be fair, Shula did have interview opportunities last season, but declined until after the SB was over.  By then, positions had been filled.  On the McDermott note, why would he leave with him for a lateral move, even if it were offered?

I don't see why people are so against the idea that he was asked to step down I think it could be a combination of that and what he stated it's not impossible it wouldn't be the first time and it won't be the last something like that would happen

I don't understand why people can't  grasp that Proehl wants to spend time with his family for a few years.

I guess it just doesn't jive with their front office conspiracy theories.

In my statement I never said that he didn't I said it was possible for both to have happened why does it make people so uncomfortable if it's such a crazy idea why pay attention to it. [emoji848]

Why don't you join the team and help? Everybody wants to be a fan of a SB winning team.  Are you the best in the world at whatever you do? If so congratulations but realistically that doesn't make you a loser.

Because although I have a lot to say I am no expert that was just my opinion just like everybody else on this board has an opinion, I have an opinion just because you aren't doing something or actively participating in something doesn't mean you don't have a right to an opinion that's crazy talk this is a discussion board. It's just like anybody who observes a business, if you see somebody at a restaurant who's not getting the job done or who isn't good at it would you not say they don't need to work there anymore ? it doesn't mean you have to be an expert but if they're not doing the job properly then they shouldn't work there anymore. It really truly is that simple.

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it....

In the NFL, if you do nothing to improve your team in the off season, you've made your team worse. There is either progress and evolution or there's regression.

With respect to the Ken Dorsey situation, the progression, growth and increasing success of the quarterback is essential to the team's success. Therefore, someone needs to be held accountable for Cam's lack of progress, growth and increased success.

Regardless of injuries and all the other stuff that every team deals with and has no control over, the fact is Cam Newton is not evolving or getting better as a QB. Look at 6 complete years in the NFL and, with the exception of but a couple stats, Newton numbers are pretty damn close from one year to the next, and they're pretty mediocre if you're being honest with yourself.

From Proehl's post-resignation comments about the Panthers receiving corps (link)

He won't be there on the sideline waiting as they come off the field, but the Panthers wideouts can count on Proehl to be among their biggest supporters.

"I'm going to be sitting in my PSLs in section 134," Proehl said with a smile. "This organization has been wonderful to me. At the end of the day, I'm still a huge fan."

For the record, it's been verified that the interview was conducted without a gun to Proehl's head.

So can we dispense with the dumbass conspiracy theories now?
