Regarding the Seahawks meltdown/demise

They lucked out in two drafts nabbing the former LOB and Wilson, a serviceable QB propped up by what was one of the best defense of all time. I'm not saying they won't be good next year, but the days of them thought of as the next Patriots dynasty is over.

right, as much as I would have enjoyed watching Cam get his brain scrambled for the umpteenth time this season, we had a merciful ending that should net a future pro-bowler with the 8th pick

That last part has nothing to do with it really but it's funny and kinda true.

Funny thing is it's actually coming true.  Their team hasn't trusted their own coaching staff since the decision to pass at the goal line in the Super Bowl.  Their weak division and some genuinely good players still couldn't even get them a bye and they were truly all in this year.  The ages of their megastars and their QB simply not being the greatest thing since sliced bread in an organization CHOCK FULL of egomaniac aholes does not bode well long term.

All overblown. They'll get their token slap on the wrist. It's not like it's going to mortally, or even profoundly, affect them.

As for Wilson, as much poo as people talk about him, dude has the second highest passer rating of all time. Only A-Rod is ahead of him. Defenses can't prop up generally good decision making. And, Wilson can hurt you with his legs. The fact is we are likely going to have to contend with Seattle for a while. We're still trying to get to where they are.

At least we know who the Seahawks are...outside of NC/SC no one even knows we have a team.

It's like when we made the SB people were like...wtf...there's yet another team with a cat mascott? Oh well they'll lose to a well known team with ahistory....then it happens and we are forgotten again.

I mean they won their first SB so that second loss is nothing like our loss...I'd be thrilled to suck so bad we go 1-1 in SBs and make the playoffs every year.

For us 2-4 years ago?  Sure!!!  For the Bills or Browns now?  Of course.  But this organization was IN the Super Bowl with an MVP last year.  Super Bowl or bust at this point.  Doing what Seattle did this year would utterly disgust me THIS year.  I'm FAR more excited over picking 8 in every round so we can win LOMBARDIS, not wild card round games.

Until we can have three back to back winning seasons in a row and establish that we are a stable and consistent contender to go the distance, I don't believe we should be trying to talk poo about the Seattles, Steelers, Packers, or Patriots of the world in regards to a demise. We are still little brother toddler trying his best to raise his leg high enough to get on the couch, not Spot raising a hind leg to piss in their yard.

The pieces are there though, like the OP said.  For many reasons this wasn't our year and our front office is as responsible as anyone for our own demise this year.  But no long term hampering decisions were made, and the beauty is we're actually rewarded for sucking by picking 8 in every round.  The future is VERY bright in Carolina, clear skies.  Forecast is murkier, potential thunderstorms in the PNW.
