I dont care about the past, we are playing great at home right now. I think the biggest hurdle may actually be the bye. That appears to be the trend anyway, but I want two playoff games in my backyard this year!

Clearly the lesson of the past three playoff seasons is it matters far more how you're playing as the postseason arrives than your particular seed. In other words, even a No. 1 seed can't save you if you're not peaking at the right time of the year.

Interesting the article discussed the Titans and Giants but didn't give much discussion about the Steelers and Panthers. Seems to me if the Steelers and Panthers win they not only have the number 1 seeds but are both peaking at the right time. If we both win the number 1 seeds, a Steelers-Panthers Superbowl seems a possibility.

Yeah that was jumping out at me as well. TN and NY support the trend he was pointing out, CAR and PIT...not so much.

I think it's about motivation and confidence. #1 seeds can easily think of themselves as the best team in football and are almost always "the team to beat". It's just a lot easier to get motivation when your team is the dog.

Another reason to go to the NJ Football Giants and whip them in their house. In the playoffs, 2 home games is huge for us and TB has been like a second home over the last few years.
