Tanoh Kpassagnon - Villanova DE

FCS kid, but man, his measurables and potential are oozing with promise. If we bypass Barnett and miss out on Charlton, Thomas, Walker, etc. maybe this kid would be a DG type of pick.  I could see a 2nd round grade on this talented prospect if he shows out at the Senior Bowl, combine, and proday.  The only two vids I could find of tape (outside of Youtube highlight cutups) were pretty promising. SD State is no slouch in FCS and could beat quite a few FBS schools.

6'7" - 290lbs - 23 (June 2017)

Quick twitch, bend the end kind of pass rush specialist.  Could be more of a 3-4 fit, but definitely think he can be a vital cog as a 4-3 end. Is he more Clowney or a small school Julius Peppers?  Intriguing athlete with great numbers and curious if he can translate it to the NFL.  Villanova coach said he's the top NFL prospect he's ever coached in 32 years.... some decent talent has come through there too (Byron Jones, Howie Long, Brian Westbrook).

If he trims down to say 280, could he be an explosive DE in our scheme?

Starting to fall for this kid.  Dude is putting on a heckuva a senior bowl week.  And has shown his Freakish athletic ability

I want a Adams Foreman combo, but reality is Adams may be gone.  Option b for me now

1. Fournette

2. Leggett (attempt to trade down)

3. Tanoh

3b Comp: Daeshon Hall (double dip on athletic DEs)

4 KD Cannon

I like that draft and unfortunately (barring a trade up which is silly) Adams is out of our range at #8.

I'm actually warming up to OJ Howard a little bit and think if we sign, say Reiff, Cyprien, Jefferson or Elam, Addison, CJ, Jurcyscyk and slap the FT on Short for 1 year, we could then walk away with:

R1: TE - OJ Howard

R2: WR/RB - Curtis Samuel

R3: DE - Tanoh Kpassagnon

R3Comp: RB - Jamaal Williams

R5: C Jon Toth

R6:  Any kicker please!

We give Cam a huge receiving weapon, as well as pass-pro addition in Howard. Learning under Olsen's wing, Howard would be that mismatch that defenses have to respect with an All-Pro like Olsen getting the attention.  He would also aid Reiff on the weakside as an extra blocker.

We also give Cam another weapon on offense with Samuel.  He is the exact type of threat Newton needs in the slot between all of these huge receivers. Samuel can aid ST as well as play some RB in certain packages to offset JStew and Wiliams.  A future duo of Williams (Matt Forte) and a Percy Harvin-esque player like Samuel will give defenses fits with having to account for KB, Funch, Olsen, Howard and Williams.

Kpsassagnon goes without saying. He is a bit raw, but the talent and drive is there. Very heady player with all of the measurables to wreak havoc.  He def needs to fine tune his game a bit and probably shouldn't be counted on for big minutes until 2019. His ceiling is high and having him on one end and Addison/Ealy on the other are nice bookends to Star and Butler.

Jamaal Williams is one of my favorite backs in this draft. He is strong, powerful, fast, moves the pile, has homerun hitting ability and is a good receiver. He is our future bell cow back and just what this offense needs.

Toth is a highly touted center that would eventually takeover for Kalil.  Toth might not even be around in the 5th TBH, but I like what he brings to a position that is going to need to be replaced. We could also roll the dice on a late round OT here, but I think Toth would have more of a chance to succeed than a OT from this weak class. Can't complain about picks at this point.

Kpsassagnon and Samuel would be great here.  Nice post.

If nothing else he's very interesting. Wouldn't blame the Panthers for picking him up Round 2 and below.

Yeah drafting a TE that high is interesting. There's going to be a huge talent pool at pick 8 and some pretty damn decent TEs going later in the draft so its hard for me to think that would be a realistic move for the Panthers. Now if they traded down to say the middle of round 1 then I could see it happening.
