Not only is it poor form to make athletes interview so soon after a loss, I read elsewhere that Matt Ryan was just 10 feet away, talking about how he was able to carve up their defense.  So the media did the same thing to Bennett as they did to Cam.  That's just rude.

Yeah it was in the locker room so there was no way Matt Ryan was anywhere in earshot of the conversation. Here is a second article telling about it. Sherman had to stop his interview to come over calm the guy down.

Quote

"Don't point (at us) and say we didn't do what we needed to do, OK? Don't do that, OK? Get out of my face now. Don't tell me I didn't do my job, mother------. Get the (expletive) out of my face. Like I said, get out of my face.

"Don't play with me! I just put my heart on the (expletive) field! Don't play with me. Get the ---- out of my face! Try me again and see what happens. I ain't one of these mother------ . Don't tell me what I didn't do, mother------.

"We lost the game! That's the NFL, you non-playing mother------! What you do with your life? What you do with your lifetime mother------? What injury you play through? What adversity you went through?"

Though the reporter never responded or attempted to escalate the situation, Bennett's voice grew louder and louder, drawing the attention of Sherman, who broke up his own interviews to calm Bennett down.

Everyone is comparing how the Seahawks lose to how Cam loses.

First off, Cam never shoved or tried to hurt anyone in a loss. Second, he didn't threaten a reporter or belittle them because he was upset. He simply walked away. That's literally what we teach little kids to do when they are mad, is walk away and collect yourself.

Now Cam isn't a little kid, but the point stands.

I'm so fed up with all the poo Cam gets.

Wow. This is a stark reminder whenever you get upset with a stranger. You never know what that person is going through and has been through.

The more I learn about mindfullness the more I see the benefits of it.

Even if you don't know the person, chances are he's gone through worse than being a millionaire who lost a football game.

Meh, I do not care.  The whole idea of making athletes answer questions moments after an emotional loss is stupid.  It is like when people get upset when certain language is caught on mic during live action.  What do people think is going to happen.

Ordinary people lose their cool over less in situations where emotions are much lower all the time.  The way Cam handled it was definitely better but as long as he did not punch somebody then who cares.

It's because they actually want responses like that. Gives everyone something to talk about

No tears for these guys after a tough loss. Millions of people endure a ton more than losing a game everyday and don't have an offseason to get better.  The common guy's offseason is called the wkd. A vacation or two if he or she is lucky.

And for Bennett to take to the degree of asking the guy has gone thru adversity is borderline paranoia.
