We got swept by the Bucs.

The year after appearing in the Super Bowl.

Let that sink in.

THE BUCS.

But what oh what in the world could we have done to prevent this? I just don't know. It's crazy, I know it's not Gettleman's fault though, that poor fella. It's cool guys, we can afford to have throwaway seasons with two superstar talents on each side of the ball (Cam/Luke) getting another year older while we just kick the tires, and the rest of the league improves. No biggie.

The rest of the League took notes vs the Broncos.  And said, what EVERYONE in the organization knew.  "Gee golly, Mike Shula is poo.  I can gameplan against this."  And did so accordingly, and what did we do in the offseason?  Get worse on defense, and stay complacent on offense. Gettlemen fuged up royally.  Simple as that.

Everyone loved him when he looked very promising as a rookie. WRs not improving a bit during their career here is kind of a recurring them, but people still want to try to act like Proehl is some type of coaching savant.

I've said the same thing Numerous times. He doesn't deserve a pass for this pitiful offensive display this year. WRs aren't improving now why not?  Are they all soft and lazy or are they not being coached up

Panthers shat the bed most of the season. We where just terrible. Falcons have vastly improved while we have regressed to the bottom of the heap.

Falcons deserve all the success they had last season. They are now a good team playing well.  No hate involved at all.

No it wasn't. We lost 2 games. Acting like the team wasn't good in 2015 is recency bias using 2016 to cloud your judgement of 2015. That said, I do think 2016 showed that our coaching wasn't good enough, but hard to sack the coaches after getting to the Super Bowl.

I think you guys really are understating how great Cam was in 2015.  Shula was poo regardless, and Cam masked how terrible he was for quite sometime.

And then, Gettlemen said "Hey, Coach McDermott.  Here's a poo secondary for you to figure out with Wilks.  Enjoy it bud."  And poo hit the fan completely then.

That anger should be towards Devin Funchess, give him a real # 2 to take the pressure off.

I hope you do realize he was coming off a ACL surgeroy.

I think if we do the right things this offseason, and go all in on the offense, we can be back in the mix of competing for playoff seeds.

Unfortunately, we may very well be a good bit behind the likes of the Falcons if they keep doing what they are doing in 2017.

That's what I've been trying to get through to these doofuses that are busy sucking off Gettleman. It's big picture. Yes you can scoff aside the 2016 season as a lost season, but our inaction could have ripple effects the next couple of years as it pertains to the rest of the division, and the league. Other teams have means of improving too. We have a really good core, but they aren't getting any younger, and these are crucial key players we're talking about here.

As far as I'm concerned, f*ck these people minimizing the lack of effort by our FO in the offseason. You can't call yourself a Panthers fan, and then accept the same mediocrity that has kept this franchise from witnessing back to back winning seasons again, and again.

I will absolutely agree with that, but did you really expect Cam to have the worst year of his entire career? I also think the D's propensity for turnovers also masked the fact that in yards per play we were just above average.

We've got to make some big changes in 2017 and I'm real disappointed that we aren't trying to upgrade the OC. I know the defense got worse overall, but as I've posted before, the D got much better after the bye and after we made adjustments, even with Kuechly missing 6 of the 10 games after the bye. The Oakland game was a killer where Kuechly makes those coverage plays that Klein could not. There were two games where our pass D rating got trashed, the Atlanta and NO games before the bye. The games where the CBs were mainly Bene, Teddy and Sanchez. Outside of those games, we were a better than average pass D and all season we were a top run D.

I've got a lot of faith that the D will get back to top 10 in 2017. I have little faith Shula will turn it around, so unless we get Fournette and a TE in the draft and have healthy OL, Shula doesn't have the creativity and play calling to find flaws in the opponents.

I think Cam had his worst year, because the League caught up with Shula.  Simple as that.  The Offensive Line was average because of the Tackle positions.  Gettlemen said "average offensive line?  Don't mind if I don't do anything about it."  And out trots the same unit that got historically raped in a Super Bowl.  Guess what?  Tape on Shula?  Time to butt fug this moron!  We know how to get to Cam, and we will!  Ta da!!!!  Shitty Lineman get destroyed (let's not play coy with how bad Oher was when he was healthy), and we still have 30 million in cap room sitting there.  With Mike Remmers starting as our LT.  Thanks Gettlemen.  Vernon Butler helped tremendously though.  :dead:

Wait, we are sucking off Gettleman but we have to go all in on the offense to be back in the mix of competing for the playoffs? So, you don't think Shula is the issue, it's the talent he has even though he added an almost 1000 yard WR to the 2015 offense? So, when Gronk goes down and NE can still compete or GB loses Eddie Lacy and gets better, they didn't adjust and take advantage of opponents weaknesses.

You're damn right we have to go all in, particularly on offense.

Shula isn't going anywhere whether you or I like it or not. That's not anything that is going to change for 2017 so I've accepted it.

Comparing us to NE is silly, Belichick is world's better than Rivera overall. Ron is a good enough coach, but he isn't going to turn what Bill has into Super Bowl quality over the years. That franchise is a well oiled machine.

Also, GB lost Lacy, but got back Nelson. Suddenly Rodgers looked like his old self again. It's interesting what an offense looks like when the receivers are actually making plays for their QB's, and the QB isn't having to throw into the tightest windows possible.

It's up to Gettleman now either way. We cannot waste this core another year.

The dude is blaming Shula, even though he knows Shula is poo?  I mean, Shula was poo last year, and we were winning.  I don't get this nonsense.

I seriously don't understand how Rivera expects the offense to "evolve" with the same play caller. To change the offense, you have to change the offensive coordinator. A 50 year old OC doesn't change his play-calling philosophy in an offseason. Team doesn't have 3-4 years for him to start figuring it out.
