That's because the 3 main food groups in Cali are tofu, avocado, and semen. So when they actually eat a burger, they all like "Oh, I'm so BAD! I ate MEAT!! It was so TASTY!! But never again. Until I'm in this neighborhood again."

Five Guys. And Red Robin. "FRIES!! SO MANY FRIES!!!" Sorry, Sally, I ain't into fries that much.

CookOut is usually located by a college (as is CiCi's), because broke ass college students just want to eat like pig for 5 bucks. The quality is low, but so is the health grade. I don't care, I got 20 bucks to last a couple of days, so I'ma eat that MegaMeal at 4:00 and get some cheap alcohol. Cuz, 'Merica, bitch.

To all of you "aristocrats" complaining about fast food, remember this. You have a choice. Don't go back. If thy Bojangles or thy Taco Bell offend thee, cut it off. I eat both on occasion, I go to Szechuan 132 and order Cheng Du Chili. Literally a soup made out of chili oil. It physically scared me the first time I ate it. But it's so good.

And, back to the original post, yes, a burger you cooked on the grill is infinitely better than anything you can buy somewhere else. But some folks don't have the time, money, or a grill to do that. The heart wants what the heart wants.

I don't know why, but I really enjoyed this post.

You're like the first person I've seen that doesn't like cookout. Lol.

Like someone else said though, it all depends on the restaurant. There is a Hardees I used to stop at on the way to high school that was amazing. The ones in Wilmington? Not so much.

Is that Hardees by the college still there? It used to be open 24 hours. Tore that place up on many drunk nights 14 years ago.

Best part about it there was some old lady who worked the night shift that stayed in a halfway house and she would hook us all up for free.

Edit: Nevermind, I googled it. Still there but not 24 hours anymore.

Toward the end of the shift, they would hand you all of the leftover fried chicken they had, as long as you made some type of purchase.  Buy a large coke, get 20 pieces of chicken.

Worked out pretty well.

it won't be the most amazing thing you've ever tasted. But for a fast food burger joint it's number one by a good margin.

If in n out is number 1 by a good margin then everything else must be complete poo on a bun. I've eaten at 3 separate ones, not by my choosing after the first, and all 3 were down right horrid. I have never had a hamburger so loaded in grease that I could wring out the bun, and that's not an exaggeration. Never again. Last time I was in Cali and the family wanted to go there, I walked across the street and got some tacos.

Sorry you had a bad experience, In N Out is known for not expanding the franchise too thin to maintain quality.

I was around 23 when I had it so maybe the grease just didn't bug me- definitely could now.

I was in San Diego when I went for tacos. How could you not want some awesome fish tacos from a local dive? Authentic local cuisine > processed ass patties any day.
