I feel like Jonathan Stewart may restructure

Just a gut feeling. The Panthers could take his current salary due, turn it into a bonus and prorate it a few years.

I feel like Stewart wants to stay in Carolina. If you keep up with his social media, he has a lady, a baby on the way, and posted pictures of the blueprints for the charlotte home he is building.

A guy doing those things probably isn't interested in moving anytime soon.

What say you? Extend 3 years to a cap friendly deal, let him retire when he wants?

I don't see us drafting Fournette with so much draft talent at other positions, BUT a backfield of Fournette and Stewart would be frightening for opposing defenses, especially late in games.

I dont see why we cant restructure his deal and draft Leonard its not like these things are mutually exclusive.

They need to. I like Jonathan Stewart but at only 3.8 ypc his production is declining.

Stewart restructuring and allowing us to draft a stud RB would be a dream scenario. I agree that he's probably game for it if we are.

That home will be here when he gets back if that's the route the team decides. These players have millions and don't face the same limitations as most of us. If relocating to a new city for a few years=more money including more money for his child, then I can see a reason for not taking less.

Certainly possible.  At the same time this is definitely a great year to rebuild and overhaul the backfield and I can see that as a possibility as well.

It's no coincidence that Stewart was healthy for our big run in 2015 (minus last game or whatever) this offense under Shula is dependant on a productive run game. A 1-2 punch of Stewart and Fournette would be f'n filthy. 

I'd be all for resctructuirng Stew and drafting Fournette still. Both guys would help prolong eachothers careers.

Stew when healthy still has a lot to offer.

And prolong Cam's career. I would be happy with Fournette or Cook in the draft.

The guy has really changed my mind.  I used to put Stews deal right up there with DWills, but now watching him carry the load is a pleasure.

I don't even consider his money anymore.  His play is just fun to watch.
