Say we draft a RB at in the first round, does Stewart have any trade value?

If fournette is picked, I don't see why we should trade away our quality back up or mentor for Fournette. This  was the same as Anderson a few years back when Cam was devoloping and missed some games due to injury. It's essential to have a back that can be plugged in and be productive in case the other one misses time. Could go either way if Fournette takes lead and misses time or vice versa if Stewart takes lead and misses time. You have a viable option.

I know the huddle thinks J-Stew is the greatest thing since slice bread, but would any other team be willing to trade for him?

He hasn't rushed for 1000 yards in 7 seasons, is averaging under 4 ypc, hasn't played a full season and god knows how long and has a big contract.

You answered your own question, why would anyone trade for him?

Cause apparently he's good enough to pay 8 million to as a backup.

Acording to pantherphann89 he's big, strong, fast with great hands and great pass protection what team wouldn't want him? Either that or everyone in this thread is overrating the crap out of him. And are blinded by their own fanboyism.

Imo they find the highest bidder even if that means a 6th round pick and move him, 8 mill is to much for a backup averaging 3.8 ypc. Impending with draft Cook or Fournette

He won't be on our roster at that price... he'll be released if he isn't willing to restructure and other teams know this so they'll let it play out.

IF the highest bidder is not an NFC team, and not Cleveland or Buffalo, then maybe.  The mutual respect Stew and the Panthers have for each other prevent trading him to just any team.  I truly don't see it at all.

Would another team be willing to pay him 5.5 milllion and give up draft equity for him? Maybe a late round pick but that's the most I can see.

We got a 7th for Beason so it's not impossible or unprecedented, just extremely unlikely IMHO.  But if Jacksonville truly gave their 7th and we used that pick on our kicker of the next decade+, we'd have to take it and consider ourselves lucky.

They only had to pay beason the prorated amount left of his 1 milllion dollar salary. Big difference vs a team having to pay stew 5.5

And proceed to not pay him poo

Wouldn't he rather just restructure his contract here, and not taking poo here as opposed to not taking poo somewhere else?

Zod is right on this one, he'll restructure

depends.

never as simplistic as we make it.  he will want to do whatever ensures him the most actual money at the end of his career.  Don't know what Gettlemen will really do...isn't hard to imagine him making Stewart an unattractive deal for Stewart.
