Say we draft a RB at in the first round, does Stewart have any trade value?

I know the huddle thinks J-Stew is the greatest thing since slice bread, but would any other team be willing to trade for him?

He hasn't rushed for 1000 yards in 7 seasons, is averaging under 4 ypc, hasn't played a full season and god knows how long and has a big contract.

Yea no trade value really but can still definitely be useful to us.  Draft a stud RB, give them an equal load and reduce Stewart's chances of getting injured again while not having to put a full load on the rookie necessarily.  Win win.

I wouldn't mind keeping Stewart, but I do not want a two back system. If we draft Cook or Fournette make him the work horse. Stewart takes Tolbert's role

You could maybe get a 7th, but honestly I'd just release him so he can pick where he wants to go if he doesn't want to retire.

Like I mentioned it before we need to use more 2 back formation and use J-Stew in Tolbert role of pass protection  short yardage, screens, WR  & dump offs while the rookie get majority of the carries.

Titians & Atlanta have  the new version of  double trouble .

Can't have a rookie like Fourntette be a every down workhorse

Cam is our QB and our OL issues likely won't be fixed overnight.  That means pass protection and blitz pickup carry a lot of weight and all reports suggest Fournette isn't going to excel there...and even players that will be good aren't great at it as rookies.

So we will need an experienced RB to share the load simply because we don't have Dallas' OL

If we went back to a two back system, Stewart would shine again. He does his best work as a change of pace back. His greatest strength is in punishing the heck out of winded linebackers. 15-20 carries from him a game will net you a good hunk of yards and a defense that has taken body blow after body blow.

If you can pair him up with a first class all-around runner (like DeAngelo Williams was in his prime), he becomes the finishing shot of a perfect 1-2 punch. You can also get more durability from him.

I hope we keep him and let him work through his career here. He's been dinged up, but he's been nothing but an exemplary Panther his whole time here. Good guy, good worker, good player.
