Anyone else think we should have gave Cash a look at SS?

Has Mayo played outside at all?  I know he's been Luke's backup and played ST. Just wondering at the illustrious Texas State if he is familiar with either of the non-Mike positions?  Good thing is that, IMO, Mayo is at least one full year away from sniffing a starting role beside Luke and Shaq and Cash is 2 years away from thinking about starting.

Good thing TD has at least 1 or 2 more years in the tank. I just hope we draft strongly and nail FA this year so that we can get Davis that ring before he sails off into the sunset.

It's not like there's a bunch on Mayo's pre-NFL days, but I do know that he made the switch from DB for his senior season which points to an ability to adapt, so going from ILB to OLB really shouldn't be that big if a stretch for him. And being that PFF rated him fairly highly in run support as an OLB, I assume he has played the position.

"With 35 tackles resulting in a defensive stop against the run from 324 snaps in run defense, Mayo had the fourth-highest Run Stop Percentage amongst 4-3 outside linebackers in this class at 10.8."

One thing for certain...need to replace Boston...Coleman is suspect too but I think if he had a young fast safety opposite him he would do better

I don't believe Coleman is suspect at all. His season was obviously not as good as last season, but he still put up solid stats, notwithstanding moving from FS.
