Deshaun Watson declaring for draft - helps Panthers

I like Watson but as it stands right now, I think he's the 3rd QB off the board: 

(1) Trubisky

(2) Kizer

(3) Watson

Well, if we're choosing Watson over Trubisky due to the fact that he's a winner, what are we to assume about Trubisky? The logical conclusion is that he's... less of a winner? I don't know, it was your argument not mine.

I'd take Watson over Kizer all day long with zero hesitation. I don't get the hype around that guy at all. I put him in the Kaaya range in terms of NFL prospects. Hell, I might put Kaaya over him.

He has a big arm, accurate and can make all the passes. He's still raw but I do think that his ceiling is higher than Watson. In my opinion he's a better pocket passer than Watson. It's really just who you want. There are three pretty good ones to pick from. All three are ligitmate top 10 picks. Not like last year when you're scratching your head over Goff and Wentz going 1 and 2.

Both of the offenses are ticky tack, difference is Trubisky was way more efficient with a less talented supporting cast. 

 

Plus I never said either of them are top 5 worthy

Trubisky had a very talented supporting cast, although some injuries on the Oline and losing Mack Hollins were rather impactful. 

Rbs:

TJ Logan (a very underrated RB + an overall good football player - see his production on special teams)
Elijah Hood (the anointed start of the offense; although he suffered through concussions and an apparent medical issue)

WR:

Ryan Switzer (would love for the Panthers to consider drafting him on the 2nd/3rd day, even if just as a replacement/supplement for Ginn)
Bug Howard (tall & strong possession receiver with good hands)
Mack Hollins (excellent all around football player with great speed)

Watson stock is about as high as its going to be right now. He probably would help us in the fact that Cleveland or Arz Need QBs.

Trubisky has nice talent around, a couple of mid to late round picks. Watson has the best WR in the country, one of the best TE in the country, a good line and RB that will go in the 3rd round and another receiver that might be a first round pick next season.

 

Not really close in the talent department.

I haven't watched him much but I saw something I liked against Stanford. He made mistakes but came back and made some great throws and plays. He looked like a first year starter with a bunch of potential. Wouldn't surprise me to see him do well in the NFL.

I don't like the idea of making judgments about a player based on a stat line, especially in a spread college offense.

It has been a while since I watched the Pittsburgh game film, but I recall him missing a few crucial 3rd down conversions  in the 3rd and 4th quarters as well as multiple instances of going to the check-down way too early. 

Overall, throughout his career, I recall he has lots of drive killing decisions by going to the check-down way too early on 3rd and 7 or more. He also missed way too many open receivers on the deep ball.

Talent doesn't always equal draft position. 

I.e., if Switzer were over 6'1, he would be a first rounder.
