Why are so many people in love with Cam Robinson?

He will not help our position at all against speed rushers. He just won't. He cannot handle any pass rushers with speed looking at his tape.

He is a glorified version of Remmers; clearly not a day one starter.

I agree we need some tackle depth, but we don't need to take one day one. I can't believe you guys don't understand that there's so many good project guys we can snag later on.

Unless you want turnstile 2.0, just don't get a tackle early.

With all due respect I hear this same thing about guys every year and most of the time it's media driven bs

So, with guys like Adams, Fournette, Barnett -- heck, even Mike Williams on the board, you'd rather have a 50/50 tackle over a sure-fire contributor?

Well the first thing is that I don't view him as a 50/50 tackle. My first choice is Mike Williams, but I doubt he'I'll be there, but yea I'd take him over all of those guys.

I've watched Cam Robinson a good bit the last several years since I live in SEC country. He was better last year than this, but he isn't mobile enough to handle speed rushers on a high level. At best he is a RT, and could end up as a G. I'm not a fan at all. That's not media coverage, that's watching him play.

Well, there's your problem.

If Mike Williams is taken up in the top 10, color me surprised. He drops as much balls as our wideouts. Not a sure handed catcher, but flashy.

Cam Robinson is a glorified version of Remmers. He does not bode well against speed rushers, but plays decent against everyone else. He is not worthy of a top 10 pick when we have game-changing players on the board.

Scouts already acknowledge that issue:

Quote

One NFC team gave Robinson a second-round grade. That team said Robinson could have problems with speed rushers if on the blind side. They said they project him similar to Tampa Bay's second-year left tackle Donovan Smith.

Some of the negativity towards him is a bit overblown around here.  He might be "rated" as high as Orlando Pace or Johnathan Ogden were but I would think he would still be a 1st round pick most years.  Whether or not he is the best option for us when we pick is an entirely different story.

Also I think there is a very good chance Mike Williams is still there when we pick, unless he exceeds expectations at the combine.

I don't know if you're aware, but I'm actually a Clemson student...your analysis of Mike Williams is just false

It's hard to find a mock draft that doesn't have him gone by our pick

Mike Williams is fine and all, but for my money I'm taking Corey Davis all day long. He's better put together, likely stronger, and just looks more dynamic to me. And, I believe that he has better hands. He's also a great route runner
