Not really. Out of qualified RBs, he was 31st in yards per carry, 19th in yards and 17th in first downs, . His contract APY is 3rd, so we're paying him more than he's produced. His dead cap was way too big until this year.

I just looked at our 2017 cap numbers and with June 1st cuts and cutting Stewart, Gano and Solai would free up almost $12M per year if we want to blow Berry away and steal him from KC.

Gawd... do you think berry is possible. Whats his prognosis?

Cutting him would be a mistake except for major injury...worth the money..

Considering that the cap goes up and his cap hit goes down I don't see the urgency to cut him on his final year. Especially if coupled with a rookie worth a damn.

ETA: No, I am not saying I don't like Stewart and appreciate him, just talking about contract $$$ to production.

But this doesn't account for the fact that he usually has to break 2 or 3 tackles before he even gets to the line of scrimmage. If we had competent run blocking he would be near the top imo.

If we weren't playing our 3rd  center from the practice squad , our RT at LT and our RG at RT we might be better at run blocking.

Well he isn't a bench warmer really. He's one Jonathan Stewart injury away from being our starting running back even when two other healthy running backs are active on game days.

Of course that assumes he is active which many times he isn't.
