Hindsight is poor support for an opinion however the OP does have a point in that Shaq should be playing a lot more than he has been for a lot of reasons.

They finally relieved Klein in nickel packages with Shaq. Worked out well. He had a big hand in shutting down Fitzgerald last year in the NFCCG.

lol half this board would have sprinted to the podium to draft dorial green-beckham with our first that year

considering the entire league passed on collins in the first you can say that 32 times

Nctarheel0619 was in love with DGB

Shaq wasn't just brought in as TD's eventual replacement.  Our biggest issue in 2014 was getting absolutely abused by the slot in our big nickel packages (see Charles Godfrey followed by Colin Jones).  I'm sure that was noted on this board then and that is exactly what Shaq has taken over.

Well thats on coaches who prefer their precious vets like Colin Jones in nickel/dime packages rather than keeping a rookie/2nd year Shaq on the field, isn't it?

Look at TD's stats over his first 4-5 years. He may have had solid production years 2-3 (88 total tackles), but his breakout year wasn't until year 4 (113 tackles). And you can argue his first few years of production were solely due to being thrust into playing due to a complete lack of talent at the safety position when he was drafted. I could argue that Shaq is on the same exact trajectory as TD, except he isn't wasting time playing another position (which he could have considering his college career). TD.PNG
