"How to Fix the Panthers"

The Lobo

Recommended Posts

This is an article about who to sign, release and draft. I don't know how to post tid bits but it's a short article.

I know a lot of you guys either don't like or don't know about Walterfootball, but I found this article interesting. It seems like a low probability it plays out this way, but it's something to read and discuss. So, enjoy!

Don't think we can afford what he wants if we want to sign back all our players.

As far as safety, I believe there's also a deep free agent market as well. Tony Jefferson will be highly coveted, but guys like Quintin Demps are quietly putting together a strong case for teams to get him.

Nickel - I like Leonard Johnson, but that spot is honestly upgradable. I think we're fine with what we're at though.

DE- JPP may be a possibility; though unlikely.

OT - He'll bring someone in.

EDIT: I noticed he put together a draft for us.

If it plays out like that, I'll lose all hope in the Panther's FO. Heck no to picking Dalvin Cook and an OT in the first. Just plain no.

What about Cyprien from Jax at SS and sign Pep on a 1 year deal?

I could def get on board with a Cyprien signing. Reminds me of when we snagged Mitchell and Harris, and they thrived here.

I'd personally do something like this:

Tag KK

Release: Tolbert, Ginn, Addison, Klein

FA: Chandler Jones, Jonathan Cyprien

Draft:

R1: Derek Barnett

R2: Donta Foreman

R3: Trade + '18 3rd rounder for Joe Thomas

R3 Comp: Jordan Leggett

R4: Tyler Orlovsky

Cam- NO more weight training or super secret 1.67th gravity core training. Nothing but F&F, football and film.

Start both Thomas Davis and Charles johnson, but give more snaps to Shaq and Ealy. Like 65/35.

KK- tag

KB- you're on Weight Watchers, come into camp sub 240 lbs and ready to work.

Too early to comment on coaches and draft. This is a start for now.

I like to solve present problems with veterans and future deficiencies with rookies. We need a #1 runningback to take over from Stew. Draft the best RB now because two (Fournette, Cook) could be there. Let these guys run instead of Cam. Get free agent OL that can help Cam NOW! Cam isn't a young player anymore, he needs guys that know what to do, where to be.

If they don't help Cam NOW we could have a Barry Sanders situation. I hope ownership has learned from the Kerry Collins debacle. It took YEARS to bounce back from that whole mess of losing a franchise QB.

If they could pull off bringing Pep back that would be better than the Reggie White deal. Instantly the pass rush would be better and the athletic freak that is JP may be extra motivated coming home playing a year or two and helping us to WIN a Super Bowl.

Your sort of sound like Getty. I feel like that's the approach he takes in FA. Getting Cyp would help that. Draft a DE or a RB in the first and sign some crafty veterans.

Release Mike Tolbert and replace him with who? CAP could not even beat him out. Cutting him and replacing him with a project or lesser talent will only open up a new wound for the Panthers offense. We need an upgrade at FB before the Panthers get rid of Tolbert. Some people never learn their lesson. We will see what we get in the draft.
