Spotrac predicts KK contract

I wonder if KK lost value after this non-pro bowl season.

If so, Gettlemagic?

His non-pro bowl season consisted of more sacks than Kris Jenkins had in 3 of his pro bowl seasons...

Pretty sure KK's agent can easily counter his down numbers by pointing to the dumpster fire pass D that allowed short throws most of the season.  That kills pass rushers.  Run D was strong.

I think was an assumption on the locals mind and thus it is so.   I don't recall him saying he was going to pay KK with that money, only that he was moving on from Josh and going to focus on other things like signing KK.

I heard him agree that KK is part of the core and Josh wasn't - never heard he was going to specifically use that saved money on KK. Would love to read that article if there is one though.

I wasn't sure that Hardy or Norman were worth the money they were asking, and I outright didn't want to tag Hardy because I wanted to secure Jared Veldheer. Now, I'm not so sure KK is worth all that. I just don't think I'd do it, and I still say that we'll get better value with extending Star. I'd probably tag KK, provided he ain't talking stupid, but on the DL I'd be looking to trade for a LT and a mid round pick, or a first round pick in this year's draft (of which I believe Cleveland has two).

I think it was at the start of TC just after Josh was released during a brief interview that he did when reporters cornered him at Wolford.  Not sure if the video is still around or that I'm remembering it correctly but that's what my mind is telling me.

It also tells me me I'm gorgeous and hung so take it for what it's worth.

When/where did GMan say he was using the Norman money on KK? I missed that quote.

Some people get that he implied the money was going to go to KK when he put KK's name in a list of things he could do with the money.    He never actually said I'm going to use Josh's tag dollars to sign KK.

Granted, it's a spotrac "prediction" of KK's contract, not a guarantee that he asks for that.  However, if that's what his value is on the open market, I'm ok with saying buh-bye.

I love KK and think he's more important than Norman was coming into this season.

KK will be 28 next month and, much like Norman, I don't feel comfortable committing that much yearly cap to 1 guy who will spend just as much time in his 30s as his 20s on this team.  $18MM/yr is more than Suh and Cox's annual avg.  I know Cox got over $60MM up front over the first 2 years in guaranteed dough, but he was also 25 years old when he signed the deal, not 28.

I want KK back up to say, maybe $14-15MM/yr avg.  I'd tag him this year and groom Butler.  I know a lot of folks will cry that DG is cheap....blah blah... what about the JNo money....should've signed KK with it....blah blah....what's the point of drafting if you just let them walk...blah blah.

Sorry, I'd have a hard time paying anyone not named Cam or Luke that kind of money. If KK matched his '15 season numbers and was the second coming of John Randle or Warren Sapp, then maybe....maybe that $16-17MM might be worth it, at the cost of Star... and then you roll KK/Butler, but then you have personnel issues since they are both better suited as 3-techniques.  No way KK is worth $18MM, IMO. I can't see DG going above $14MM TBH. Looks like FT until he's 30 and then we move on with Star/Butler and draft someone in the latter rounds to rotate in.
