This mock has us trading back with the Browns and still getting Barnett.  I find it unlikely but also correct in saying it'd be an all time steal if true.

Two things it mentions however I did not know.  One, he equaled Von Miller's sack mark in 3 seasons in took Miller 4 to get.  And two, it's 10th all time in CFB history!!!

Still getting Barnett in the first and then having 3 3rd rounders.

4 second day picks for the Panthers would be awesome

Pass rushers stock skyrocket during the combine/proday etc evaluations. I doubt he'll be on the board at 8

Our hope is that QB hungry teams all jump in and 3 QB's go early, then we are in business

That's the beauty of this draft.... with Garrett, Allen, more than likely Trubisky and Kizer (possibly Watson if he balls out vs. Alabama), possibly Foster, and one of the SAF, and possibly Fournette, we will be in position to take BPA and have it cross off a need.

We should have a shot at either a SAF, DE or RB, and arguably get the top RB, and possibly the top SAF in a loaded class. Adams is 1, but Barnett is 1A for me. Really hope we get him and plug a 20 year old difference maker at DE in this system...... if not, we have other options and will be such a better team because of it.

Been watching a lot of Barnett and I'm having hard time finding things NOT to like about him. Dude is a absolute monster off the edge. Combination of speed, power, and consistency.  He never takes a break. I had both the safeties over him on the defensive side but I'm starting to back away on that . He is exactly what gettleman looks for. Draft him and resign Addison and you got something special far as past rush. Fix the pass defense threw FA agency and the defense is good. Focus the rest of the draft on offense and it's no reason why we are not back in the playoffs next year.

Yeah Fournette is holding hands with Barnett for me.  If we go Fournette hopefully Barnett is either gone or goes to the Bengals at 9.  He's a player that I don't want going to the Saints.

This is a very interesting thought, I can deal with fournette going to a team in our division much more than Barnett. With our OT issues Barnett will wreck us twice a year, he would definitely improve one of the other 3 teams in our division, they all need pass rush.

I havent been this sold on a DL since Short. I knew Short was the best pass rushing DT that year and laughed at all the GMs passing him. Barnett is the best pass rushing DE in this draft. Garrett might become better in the future but he aint there yet.

I will take a stud passrusher over a stud RB any day of the week.

He's undersized. His length measurements at the combine will be big for him.

My impression as well, which is why I dismissed him early in my personal scouting process--like I did James Bradberry, Kony Ealy, and Kelvin Benjamin in years past----so what do i know?

Barnett is 6'3' 265 according to one source I saw.

CJ has been a good one --He is 6'2" 275.  I think the 3 cone, arm length, interview will be huge.  From what I can see, he would be a good fit here--better than (IMO) Solomon Thomas or Taco Charlton

I like Garrett over Barnett, but Barnett is #2 and Garrett will be gone anyway.  But that is not why I responded to this---KK short was reported to "wear down" and play too high at the ends of games---Purdue never took him off the field.  He was in for 60-70 plays--unreal--and he was Purdue's only good lineman,so he was always doubled.  I was amazed at his stats when I saw him.  I hope we find a way  to keep him.

On pure technique and skill Garrett isnt close to Barnett.

LOL

Thomas won't even be there at 8.

Statement stands.  Dorks may care about mocks, combines, etc. but Barnett rested his case with as solid a package as any 20 year old DE in history.  He won't hurt himself in interviews or the combine either.  We'll see.
