Well.  Not super informative but I'm certainly more optimistic than I was before these updates.  Accountability is huge and love or hate Getts he's always been a pretty real dude.

Thanks Cap as always

not signing josh not only saved the panthers a ton of money, but it also earned them an extra 3rd round pick which can be traded if need be.

smart teams acquire draft picks. the pats picked up mike floyd and everyone else thought they were dumb to do so, but when he signs with someone else in the offseason, the pats will get a comp pick.

I'm not so sure he'll be gone.

It saved him about $14m in cap space.  With the injuries we had I really doubt having Norman would have turned us into a SB favorite.  I doubt we would have even made the playoffs.

I'm not saying I agreed with rescinding the tag based on what little I know, I'm afraid it might set a bad precedent with other players.

 hence the collateral damage comment...

The only thing worse than enduring a 6-10 season is having to endure a whiny fan base detached from reality.

Don't win the Super Bowl?  "Fire everybody, cut everybody"

Get real.  31 teams are not going to win the Super Bowl and we are one of them

Glad to hear he is taking direct accountability. It's more than we get out of Ron Rivera who blames everyone but the waterboy.

Not liking how things already seem to be shaping up with KK.

Business is business, but lately we seem to have a knack for creating bad blood.

If he isn't in our future plans I'd rather get something for him than let another player walk for little or no return.

Dave has already drafted his replacement already if things go south. That's more than we could say at this time about Josh. I hope KK stays but he had one good year and backed it up by not performing the rest. Can't pay players 20 million to do that. I just think agents these days expect al Davis money for any performance that's not terrible.

Might be less about "Didn't win the Super Bowl" and more about being 20+ years into the franchise without back to back winning seasons. Or maybe has to do with the coaching staff completely failing to adjust in close games like the Super Bowl.

DG: says he spent money with NYG and has done so here.

2017 NFL draft -- DG says he'll take "best player available" at 8 and that the draft is deep in DBs, DEs, RBs.

If there is ANYTHING that Gettleman can learn from the Giants it's what they did this past offseason.

They added Harrison, Jenkins and Vernon and took their 6-10 team and turned it into a 11-5 team with 3 nice signings.

We have the money and the talent already on this team to do the EXACT same thing. It will require for DG to actually spend money though.

Jason Pierre Paul, Jabaal Sheard, Eric Berry, Desean Jackson, Sebastian Vollmer (on a cheap prove it deal considering his injury history could be a nice add at RT). We need to hope JPP gets to test the FA market because he'd be perfect here.

One good offseason and we can be right back in it again. However Gettleman still needs to fix this coaching staff and needs to leave his ego at the door when hitting the market this offseason. The potential is there though.

really?  the offense is responsible for blowing 2nd half leads?

They have a part in it, yes.

When they're ineffective, two things happen. One, you don't extend the lead and two, the defense gets tired.

Both those things happened frequently this past season.
