No player quickly signs a tag in today's NFL.

You do it when you are worth less than the tag amount. When you are worth more per year than tag amount Like Short is then you don't sign it immediately. Prime example would be Kirk Cousins and Trumaine Johnson last year. Both couldn't have gotten a yearly average greater than the tag amount so they signed right away.

KK signing the tag right away would be a really stupid decision and something his agent should never allow him to do. The tag is like $13-14M and he could easily get $16-17M on the open market.

You are out of your mind if you think he's worth 16-17 mil a year.   He ain't getting that here nor anywhere else.

I'd call his bluff. I would not tag him (just like I wouldn't have tagged Hardy). Unlike the Norman situation, we have veteran experience at the position, and a youngster in the name of Big Vern to mitigate his loss.

We're gonna see how much of a true hardass G-man really is.

Formula smormula, everything is "liquid", and "fluid" as GMan himself once said.  Probably not a good idea for the vast majority of super studs drafted but every situation is different for different reasons.  And we just spent a 1st last year on BPA. Vernon Butler.

Considering this is Gettlemen's first rodeo as a GM....I don't buy into the "like Dave always says" defense

stud DTs aren't suppose to rack up 12 sacks and if they don't it isn't a sign they aren't that good.  Bradberry isn't now Norman and Butler won't be KK.

If a team on the open market gives KK that, they not only don't have an obvious stud at QB like Cam, but said franchise, is, hypothetically, how can I say this nicely, pure $hit and going nowhere, much less winning a Super Bowl.

I have been quick to call Gettleman out on his downfalls thus far, even when 99% of the board was worshiping him. However he did hedge his bets when he picked Butler last year, just in case this gets ugly.

Lets just Hope Butler can live up to his draft selection next year.

he did....and if that is how you use your first round picks how are you getting better?
