Dave Gettlemen be like..."hmm, what about if I claim this DT is the BPA?"

Do we have an OL to traditionally run the football? Not currently.

and if you don't...your RB is irrelevant.

If Oher, Kalil, and Cam himself are healthy, with this cat (pun potentially intended), this run game can take off ala 2015 and beyond.

For months we also read Kelly and Baalke weren't getting rid of Staley.  They're gone now so the trade options are more wide open than ever if Oher doesn't return.

Won't take more than a tweak or two to have by far the best run game in the league.

If you draft Fournette you make that decision in late February, not April. You build around a player like that, not expect to just drop him into whatever mess we've got at the run game.

He's a terrific player but you make that decision now, not on draft night.

Barnett 1a, Fournette 1b for me.  And at 8, unlike 12, it's truly hard to imagine one of the two not being available at this point.

Of course a lot can---and I mean a lot---can change between now and draft day, but at the moment I think that I'd be happy with Fournette, Barnett, Adams, Hooker, or Ramczyk (though his health is a concern).

Corey Davis is my dark horse, but I'm an unapologetic receiver guy.

I don't endorse drafting a RB...

People claim this dude is a freak show but the fact when the he lined up against the most legit D he faced....he did nothing bothers me in regards to him being some sure thing NFL stud. He had a couple cracks at Bama.

I don't think he is better than a lot of good RBs that have come through recently.  Difference between Elliot and Gurley? OLs.  One did nothing and one is claimed to be the MVP

Oher can't run block.  Kalil can but is getting older.

the run only existed in 2015 because Cam would bail the rush attack out and make it appear good.  Traditionally they weren't good at run blocking in 2015 either

I haven't watched him (like actual games, not just youtube videos), but my question with any rookie RB is how well could they survive our offense?  You know that Todd Gurly dude?  Great talent, but the Rams are a complete dumpster fire.  He was just stuck all year.

So do we have a system that would work for him?  How well does he run in traffic?  Move the pile?  Again, I don't know the specifics, so I'd rather give that over to some of y'all that know better.  I've seen the highlights for many rookie RBs over the years who look great when running on wide open runs, but who fail in the NFL.

If the Panthers draft Fournette, I assume they will scrap the read option and go back to a traditional running game. They will get a blocking FB and TE.

This is cliche but appropriate, Fournette has the rare blend of size, strength, and speed. LSU at times had him at KR at 6'1 235 and he took some back. He brings the home run threat we severely lack in the backfield. Stewart can create his own holes but he does lack breakaway speed.

Leonard Fournette / Malik Hooker (if he declares) / Jamal Adams

Give me one of these 3. We obviously need help on the offensive side of the ball badly but I think so highly of both Adams and Hooker it's tough not to want them.

These are my three as well. Fournette is last tho, imo

Yeah even picking much later in the first people were able to correctly make educated guesses as to our targets months out.  This year the math is squeezed exponentially.

I just don't think even the shock of all shockers at the combine can outweigh three years of production in the SEC out of high school for Barnett at a premium position or generational freakdom on tape from Fournette.  And neither seem near stupid enough to do something off the field to jeopardize it at this point.

While I Agree the o-line needs to be upgraded, we shouldn't pass on this type of talent when available.

Its not Iile anyone is condoning taking him over some elite OL prospect.

Gettleman will have plenty of money to upgrade the O-line in free agency. That should be done regardless of who we take number 8.
