"Cam isn't good at the short, quick throws"

Cam came from Auburn. He would do fine in a WCO especially if they speed up the tempo and more no-huddle. Ron came from SD and brought Chud with him, so it was easier just keeping the same offense. We just stuck with it. Shula just runs an offense that caters the defense, which Ron likes to win with, his defense.

Spread @ Auburn=\=WCO. The former has a lot more shots down field (with a a few dump-offs, as you're not forcing it). The latter requires quicker, more accurate passes on slants, curls, etc.

The thing Cam needs to do is lighten up on those balls. If you look at guys like Rogers and Brady, they are able to almost float it to where the receivers are going to be on crossing routes every time. That takes reps, trust, and damn good accuracy. Cam on the other hand lasers his passes to the receivers whether it's 5 or 40 yards away.

All I want to see Cam have a higher completion percentage by incorporating more crossing routes and 5-10 yard routes. Bad coaches try to fit their players into their schemes, and not mold their scheme around their talent. Our offensive line this year was not able to block like they did last year which greatly affected Cam's numbers.

Consequence of the scheme. Everyone says he's a vet now but for his entire NFL life big plays from Cam had to come either on the ground or through deep prayers. Receivers' hands and YAC are below average so even when he's on 100% it's not always encouraging. The offense has never been very successful unless Cam's lasering and playing running back and his mechanics reflect that.

No way will Rivera ever admit his staff has issues nor will he fire Don Shula's kid

nor will he bring in a competent and demanding QB coach

it is unfortunate

It is also why he will be let go at the end of 2017.   He cannot change. He will not adapt until too late.  We will do whatever have always done because it worked once  in 6 years.

i do not know why, if he wants to keep Don's son on staff he can't at least bring in an adviser for him and get rid of Dorsey

Personally, I think Cam needs to push the issue here and improve his short passes any way he can. If he's not demanding it from the current staff or does it via outside help, then he's as responsible for his shortcomings as the staff. I love the guy but like everyone else, he has to get better.
