Matt Ryan and the Falcons are an exact example of what a change of offensive identity can produce

Thats why you draft replacements, rookie cap hit is much lower :)

Panther's defense is already good, offense is what is holding this team back.

but your just a snake in the grass, May we make the right decision.

Panther's have weaknesses on both sides. It's what happens when your successful for a while and have no money in the salary cap era. Dave has fixed the Cap now we just need to keep drafting well and bring in free agents.

A snake only does what it was born to do...

This reminds me; I remember sniffing the falcons boards recently, and I noticed they resurfaced a thread about how Carolina would dominate the NFC South for 5 years.

Next year, I plan on resurfacing this thread to make you all look like idiots.

Exposed huh, I believe you guys have been saying that all season. "Just wait till next weekend when Matty Choke gives the game away." These aren't Mike Smith teams. The Falcons have a real shot.

You guys were saying the same thing about us last season.

We'll see how far the Failcons go under Matty Playoff-Meltdown.

Um I think not. You guys are receiving the gift we got in 2014. Look and see how that turned out.

Let the Falcons enjoy their season guys.  They've got a decent shot at a SB this year so I don't begrudge the fans for having some confidence.  They better take advantage of this shot though because it will be their last for a while as the Cats will be back next year to rule the South.

Tied for 7th in PPG all-time. Tied for 2nd in yards per play all-time.

What's your bar for 'historic?'

Sorry. I didn't look up the stats. Just from my perception they weren't even the best Offense this year. Pats with gronk or cowboys seem better to me. Falcons also really faced some weak Ds like saints 2x, rams, hell even us. Not saying they're bad by any means obviously one of the best Os in the league, just don't seem historic to me.

When the Falcons played the Panthers the first game, the Panthers D was rated at #5. The Rams D has been in the top 10 all year long. The Falcons also played and beat other top 5 D's (Denver on the road and Arizona), and won convincingly. Atlanta faced more good defenses than bad ones, and only 4 of the 13 teams they faced had reputations for having a bad defense. New England and Dallas both played weaker schedules and did not put up the points or yardage that the Falcons put up, so your perception may be based off of what the talking sports heads said for most of the year, while they ignored what the Falcons were accomplishing. Now the media talks about the Falcons, because they have no choice...The playoff table is set, and they have to recognize at some point what is actually happening.

Dude the Panthers this year were a train wreck. You have faced maybe one of the easiest schedules of any playoff team and have inflated your offense by running up the score on bad teams. Also trying to delegitimize Dallas and NE is laughable.

Go look at the schedules of both Dallas and New England (road and home), and explain to me how they had a tougher schedule than the Falcons. Then go look up strength of schedule for all 32 teams, and you'll see that Atlanta had the second toughest schedule. I'm not making this up, nor am I devaluing what Dallas or New England has done this year. The Falcons scored big point totals on nearly every team they faced, except for Philly. The Falcons averaged over 30 points a game, because they scored a lot of points in all but two games on a 16 game schedule. You can say that Atlanta had the easiest road to the playoffs, but you are wrong in saying it. Look at Dallas's schedule and you'll see that the toughest competition they faced was the Giants and they lost both times. The Cowboys played and won against a beat up steelers team, and they also beat Green Bay earlier in the season when they were struggling, and yes, those are still very good wins. The Patriots (who absolutely had the easiest road to the playoffs, even without Brady) on the other hand, play in a terrible division, and pad their win totals annually against teams like the Jets, Bills and Dolphins. Then, they got even more wins against bottom feeders like the Browns (Dallas played the Browns too), Bengals, Rams, 49ers, and like Dallas they faced the Steelers when they were anything but full strength. So, say what you will about the Falcons, but they were not handed anything.
