Another guy I like better than Adams is Malik Hooker. This could be a tough choice for us if Hooker comes out and both are available. Adams is a SS while Hooker is a FS, so not exactly the same position. I look at it like a choice between Earl Thomas or Kam Chancellor.

I honestly think Hooker is the best FS prospect in quite a while, better than Ramsey last year, IMO.

I am not trying to down-play your enthusiasm for Hooker. But...We do have Coleman at FS. Is there really a reason to draft a FS? Even if he is the "Best" FS prospect in recent memory

Adams will make 10x the impact of any OT in this draft class. I hope we sign a veteran tackle in free agency.

I have a feeling Gettleman will go back to his old ways and sign a handful of FAs to fill our immediate needs which will allow him to go BPA in the draft. If that's the case, Adams could be the guy.

I'd rather trade the 8 pick for a 15-16 and another pick. I can't understand everybody getting all hard over guys that have one good game.

I'm sorry. But, you cannot give up that 8th pick. That pick is just too important. Now if you can be more specific on what that "Other pick" would be? I may be on board. If I am moving down that far, I want some compensation. Switch 1st, and give us their 2nd. That would give us 1-1st, 2-2nd, and 2-3rds. That may, may, be enough to move out of 8.

We will have very few chances to pick at 8. Do we want to pass up on that level of talent. Not only the 1st. but every 8th of every round. Man, that is a tough one.

But...there are DEs we can get that could be worth the effort. Barnett, Garrett, or even McDowell. So giving up that pick would be tough.

While I wouldn't mind Fournette to compare Adams to a pick 5 years ago is unwise. I know verry little of the guy but based on the OP analysis I would love a top flight SS with outstanding instincts. Move Coleman back to FS our defense is top tier again.

I'd rather back the brinks truck up for Berry who isn't likely to be tagged a second time.

The thing is. Do you want to trust the back end of your Secondary...to a rookie? What if we get a solid Vet SS in FA. Would you consider that a better move? Then we have one less need at 8, and a Vet SS to control that Secondary to boot.

So either way. Bring in a FA SS, and have him for 3 or 4 years. Or use the #8 pick on a SS, and not be sure you can keep him when that second contract comes up? Because if you draft a kid at 8, and he pans out. By the time his second contract comes up, he is going to be expensive.

Which is why. Gman needs to bring in a solid SS in FA. So we don't have to waste that #8 pick on a SS. We may need an athletic stud at 8, but I would rather have him on Offense. At least this year anywho.

Ah hellz. If you ain't evolving, you very well can be left behind. So...I'm on board. If you can get a SS in the draft that you can trust to run your Defense. You may be best served by taking him. We do need a STRONG SS to pair with Coleman. Griffin has played well. But he is upgradable.

????!!!!????

Read more closely.

The first is saying that Adams WILL be there when we pick.

But, by all means, continue to dissemble and whine that people make comments you don't like. I mean... who would expect people to have different opinions on a message board, of all places!!!! Maybe you'll get some pie out of it.

Pay Berry we can  afford him...

Our most glaring need IMO is on the O-line.  Whether that gets addressed in free agency or draft, I don't care, as long as it gets addressed.  Sure we need a safety.  But we need some help on that offensive line first.

Don't want to reach to fill a position on the OL. There are no top ten talents there this year..  Maybe Cam Robinson...  But even that's pushing it

Both those posts are saying he'll be gone.  It sounds like you're just trying to be the contrarian of the thread.. Especially since you are the only person that thinks Adams would be a reach at 8 haha

First of all, I said I'd be content with Adams at 8. Did you catch that part of my post? I said he'd be a "slight reach," because I think his talent level is more in the 10-15 range, but that he would be a good fit for us.

Second,  one of the quoted posts said, " Would love to get Adams at #8. I just honestly can't see him on the board until we pick."

In what planet does "on the board UNTIL we pick" mean "on the board WHEN we pick?" If he's not on the board (i.e. drafted) until we pick, that means no one would be taking him before our pick. Right?? MY GOODNESS, reading comprehension is such a lost art. Take any fake classes?

And if it makes me a contrarian to suggest that people SHOULD be able to talk about expected draft positions when talking about our desired picks, I can live with that. In fact, you'd have to be pretty damn silly not to be a contrarian. Otherwise, let's draft Myles Garrett in the first, Leonard Fournette in the second, and Jonathan Allen in the sixth.

If you could get a Luke Kuechly of the secondary in the top 10, would you?

He's probably one of the most complete safeties coming out of college. He's got potential to really be one of the best. I think he'd be fantastic with his brains.

If you can get AP/ J-Stew for the offense why not ?

Balanced teams wins in the post season

While Adams is a notable player, Fourentte is 2nd best overall football player behind Myles Garrett

Bradberry & Worely development has improved and will help Coleman out , what we need is a "young vet" safety like Berry

His instincts are not on Luke's level
