Said he was coming back to Charlotte, building a new house..

If Jerry or someone else in upper management doesn't make an effort to sign Steve for a day so he can retire a Panther then I say fug them all...

Well, out of the people he pointed out in that interview that meant something to him, JR didn't make that list.

There is no justice if he is not in the hall of fame. Might be my all time favorite panther

Wouldn't want him as a father-in-law, but damn, I love that man.

He may fully deserve it but still have a difficult time.

There's a logjam of receivers trying to get into the Hall of Fame. Heck, it took guys like Andre Reed and Art Monk several years.

No, what? Julio Jones is #2 all time in YPG and Mike Evans is also top 10. They're thoroughbreds.

And from '07 to '12, Roddy White averaged ~1300 yards and >8 TDs per season. Steve Smith's best 6 years in Carolina, cherrypicked across his career, don't match that. Steve Smith is a HOFer due to his incredible longevity, but Roddy White outshone him (albeit slightly) during those years.

roddy white??...go away

Again, not saying his overall body of work was greater -- Smith is a HOF talent and White isn't. But comparing their respective peaks, White's star shone a little brighter by basically every metric.

Gettlemen is our GM.  89 ain't getting a 1 day deal with Gettlemen in that building....89 won't deal with him and likely vice versa.

But if our beat writers had balls they would press Dave on that after the press him on pooing the bed this past offseason in his presser this week
